I have been here numerous times . Every single time it’s been great the focaccia bread with the cheese and honey side is amazing.I did go there for Valentine’s Day and it paled in comparison to all other days in terms of the food . I stopped into several bars in the Old Town district. At Tavern 1888, the bartender, Ethan, made the perfect Old Fashioned. Perfect proportions of all the right ingredients, asked me which rye or bourbon I would prefer. This young man knows exactly how to make a perfect cocktail.

Great restaurant and lovely bar too. The food can be on the heavy side but it’s a place to go when you want to live it up.That said they do have some great small plates and you can’t miss the bread and herbed oil sauce - it’s another level of delicious. And yes it’s just bread and herbs and olive oil but hot dang it is done superbly. Don’t snooze on this.Love coming here - highly recommend.
