La Gastronomia di Porchetta Reviews
We hadn’t been here since they first opened and were still finding their footing. Finally made it back for dinner and WOW do I regret waiting so long. The menu is fabulous. The dishes were seasonal, generous and outstanding. This place is a gem and true Italian. Lucky Fairfax. We’ll be back more often!
It's like your best friend's Italian family invited you over for dinner. Everything is fresh, handmade, and memorably delicious! It is worth the drive up to this lovely piece of the bay area just for dinner!

La Gastronomia di Porchetta offers a delightful dining experience, with outdoor seating for a pleasant dinner. The menu features a carefully chosen selection of authentic Italian dishes, prepared with care and love, making it feel like a meal at home. The porchetta stands out, being crispy, flavorful, and tender, and the crispy pork skin is a highlight. The restaurant’s wines are reasonably priced, and the staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent recommendations. The food is consistently fresh and delicious, with dishes like Paccheri alla Pancino and Agnello praised by diners. The place is very clean and cozy, creating a warm atmosphere suitable for various occasions.
For brunch, La Gastronomia serves fresh and vibrant dishes, offering flavorful and colorful meals that have received positive reviews. The seasonally appropriate foods and homemade touches create a cozy and special atmosphere, ideal for date nights or celebrations. The vibe can be lively, especially when the restaurant is busy, but the service remains friendly and welcoming.
When it comes to dinner, the restaurant offers a range of entrees, including roast chicken and porchetta. The chicken is praised, while the porchetta is considered a bit dry with some difficulty detecting fennel flavor. The sides are abundant, though some find the presentation slightly messy. Wine recommendations from the owner and chef, Elena, add to the experience, with suggestions like Giovanni Ross Etna Ross receiving positive feedback. Parking may require a short walk, but the quality of food and warm service make it worth the visit.
Overall, La Gastronomia di Porchetta combines authentic Italian cuisine with a welcoming environment, suitable for various occasions from casual meals to special celebrations.
