Song Long Fountain Valley is a large, clean restaurant located in a large parking lot for easy parking. It offers authentic Vietnamese street food and drinking cuisine with a karaoke vibe, often featuring music. The menu has excellent choices, including many different kinds of Vietnamese food. Standout dishes are consistently praised. The Ca kho to is the BEST, very flavorful with thick sauce, reminiscent of slow-simmered catfish. The Vietnamese catfish, served with rice paper, lettuce, cucumber, carrots, noodles, and delicious authentic fish sauce with peanuts and fried garlic, is a favorite. The grilled escargot, or coconut snails, are absolutely delicious and easy to eat. Other highlights include the salt & pepper fried chicken feet, described as crispy and salty, the Bun Ha Noi which is savory and flavorful, the Starfish Chicken wings which are tender and seasoned good, and the Squid Salad which is FIRE. The crawfish is impressive when live and in season. The egg rolls are heavenly, crispy, and crunchy. The Canh chua soup is delicious and seasoned just right. A beef noodle soup has a rich broth with several kinds of beef. The garlic noodles with Bo Luc Lac can be mid, with the noodles sometimes lacking umami, though the beef is tender. Drinks are good, including salted plum soda. The staff are super nice and attentive. The decor is meh, but the place is great for events, dining in, or takeout. It is a solid, legit neighborhood place with authentic, delicious food worth trying to help keep it afloat.
