This is my favorite raw vegan restaurant! They also have a large menu of cooked vegan (or maybe that should be the other way around). I haven't tried their cooked food, but it looks absolutely delicious! I have not been to LA or the area in many years, and I am missing Au Lac!
Well, originally I liked this place! I went back and it was terrible! The food and service! The waitress was rude. The child’s plate was not edible! It took forever to finally receive our food! It wasn’t the same taste as before! We complained about it, the waitress said, “Well that’s what you ordered “! We will never go back!
Everything I have ordered has been a huge hit. I tell my daughter who is a vegan that Au Lac has the tastiest vegan food in town. I love the eggplant hot pot especially. I also love the spring rolls. You can’t go wrong with this place. I would give Au Lac a five star rating.
Besides the tasty food, service is great, too. We love Omar the most.

Âu Lạc is one of the best plant based restaurants in Orange County and has a great raw vegan menu as well. The menu is extensive, featuring dishes like vegan pho with a light, flavorful, and delicious broth, vegan chicken, fresh noodles, sushi, clay pot fish, living curried wild rice, kelp noodle chow mein, and the living burrito. For dessert, the tirawmisu, scotch on the rocks, and durian addict shake are top tier quality, though the rainbow dessert was noted to be very small.
The atmosphere is moody and upscale, feeling more appropriate for dinner than lunch. The space is a beautiful environment. The staff are extremely friendly, hospitable, smart, and nice, with service that is on point. The restaurant is clean, including the restroom. Most dishes are tasty and served fresh, though there was a complaint of cold protein in two dishes.
Overall, it offers solid value, despite upscale prices. Parking downtown can be difficult, with a nearby lot available. It is highly recommended and a place to return to.
