Chai Shai Reviews
Located in the Fremont Hub near Target, this desi chai shop offers a decent experience. I ordered the Bombay toast sandwich (takeout), which was good. The green chutney used in sandwiches typically differs from classic chaat chutney. This is an area that requires improvement. The 12 oz ginger tea had decent flavor but lacked the strength and boiled richness of authentic Indian chai. I plan to return to try their other chai varieties. Overall, an OK experience.
Superb cold coffee and a cozy place
Chai Shai in Fremont, California is a lovely place for Indian food. We had Masala, Elaichi and Kesar tea with Bun Maska, Raj Kachori, Sandwich and other chaats. All the things that we ordered were very nice and tasty. They have a plenty of options in their menu. Everything is very good. There are many Jain food options also. They have a Pani puri stall as well. The ambience is good with variety of board games to play with the food. So, overall it was an amazing experience at Chai...read full review

Chai Shai offers a delightful experience with its great Daal kachori and bun maska chai. While the menu is small for more than light snacks, the taste is good. Customers can enjoy a variety of chai options, including those with non-dairy milk, and can play board games in the cute decor. The Masala chai is reported to be very good, arriving fast and hot with the right sweetness. The ambiance is great, and the service from the counter is attentive, with a big menu offering many food and drink options.
However, a point of feedback concerns the tea cups. The 8oz tea cups are noted as being too thin, making the very hot chai difficult to hold. While sleeves are available for 12oz cups, it's suggested that thicker cups or sleeves for smaller cups would be beneficial, or allowing the tea to cool slightly. Consistency in sugar levels is also a concern, with one reviewer experiencing significant variation in sweetness for the same drink on different visits. It is suggested that a standard recipe and adjustable sugar levels would be preferable, catering to individual preferences and health considerations. Overall, the chai is usually good, and the staff is friendly.
