Excellent, attentive service. Servers are very kind and helpful with any recommendations if you have a hard time narrowing down your picks from all the good options to choose from! The Japanese pickles are delicious, buta kimchi is a favorite for sure. So much flavor in every dish. This is a place I love coming back to :)

This place has great atmosphere and food. It also is one of the few places with monjayaki. I really recommend the monjayaki. Wonderful.

Worst experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant. We were ignored for 15 minutes while the other people were being attended to by the wait staff. When we flagged the waiter down we were asked, “what?” In an extremely rude tone. When trying to place the order I was told that I would have to cook the food myself. We left at that point.
I can’t help but think that this interaction was racially motivated.

Great variety of interesting Japanese dishes you can’t find in most places. We especially enjoyed the lemon hot pot, which is a chicken soup with lots of lemon flavor. Also loved the Monjayaki, which is a variety of Japanese pancake from Tokyo that is almost impossible to find in the US.

Service was very attentive, and the food great. Try the Kim Chi Pork Belly and the Takoyaki balls.

Been wanting to try Happa Restaurant for a while now since they opened at the Gardena Hotel, and they did not disappoint. All the dishes come out hot and delicious, and the service was outstanding. We will be back soon!

It is conveniently located at Gardena Hotel with free parking.
The food is great and the atmosphere is nice! All the servers were friendly and professional, very tentative. Great place to meet up with friends.

Very reasonable pricing on all the dishes. This is Japanese Izakaya or tappas restaurant. Plenty of parking spaces right next to the restaurant and the hotel.Kanpai!

I love this restaurant and have been a fan since it offered free bento boxes with a stay at the New Gardena Hotel which is adjacent. The food is flavorful: the bacon fried rice DOES NOT MISS! Neither does the Beef Spareribs, nor grilled sliced pork with ginger. Love the Macaroni/Potato Salad. Flavorful food. Quaint hidden gem in Gardena.
