I crossed town to meet a friend in Glendale for lunch at Elena's Restaurant. It's a small restaurant you might drive right by but you would missing something special if you do. My friend Bevelry introduced me to Virginia, the original owner who is Armenian-Greek. Virginia retired but still works there to help out and clearly enjoys being there and seeing her long-timecustomers like my friend. I've had beef kebab and lamb kebab and both were very tasty. There are many Mediterranean restaurants around here, but the prices here are reasonable and the quality of the food is high.

I don't frequent Armenian cuisine restaurants but this one is a delight. The ingredients such as those in the salad is fresh and crisp. The quail is bony and there isn't much beyond the bones and the skin is too chared to enjoy. Other than that, the dishes are flavorful.
