Food was excellent. Service was good but not great. Our server was not totally with it. He kept calling for a chicken sandwich when I clearly ordered a chicken salad. The salad was great. We made sure the chicken sandwich we did not order was taken off the bill. Our appetizer never came. We made sure it was not in the bill. Ambiance was good. We like the HMB Brewery, have been there many times over the years and plan to be back. Food is fresh, well prepared, and well presented. We hope the server at our table gets better over the weeks to come. The four stars given for the server missing his mark over the appetizer and the sandwich we did not order. Otherwise it would have been five stars.

HMB brewery has a fun atmosphere indoors and outdoors. There is often live music in the bar area which is a great vibe on its own. The patio can be windy, but it does have heaters and more sheltered areas. Similarly, to Sam's, you can take a nice walk with your dog before or after your meal. Go-to orders: Artichoke Hearts (small plate) * Garlic cheesy bread with crab * Baja Fish Tacos Smoked monster burger Insider tips: Live music in the summer on weekends Rotating craft beers- great variety for all tastes * Layer up-10-20 degrees colder than surrounding areas

Food and drink are always the most rewarding after a day being active in the sun. We were initially looking into a different spot but ended up at the doors of Half Moon Bay Brewing Company because they offered drinks, had plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, and was lively (lots of people out, relaxing and dining). We got seated in a cozy corner near a window with a lot of sunshine (oh and a view of the nearby water). So...win, win, win, and win. Despite being busy, the service was professional and friendly (this is not easy to pull off!). Since this is a Brewing Company and restaurant, we got the following: -SEARED AHI TUNA (Wild-caught, blackened Ahi Tuna seared rare with sesame seeds and soy ginger glaze, served with vegetable egg roll, rice, spicy avocado mix): I liked how tender and perfectly seasoned/seared the tuna was; the rice was kinda meh (would've preferred Asian white rice with this Asian-inspired dish); the sides (avocado salad/veggie egg rolls) were delicious and prepared perfectly! -MAVERICKS TUNA MELT (Albacore tuna salad, pickled ginger, daikon sprouts, apples tossed in citrus vinaigrette, cheddar; on sourdough): I liked how thick, soft yet crunchy the bread was; tuna was seasoned perfectly; I liked the sweetness and crunch of the apple that helped balance out the creaminess and meatiness of the tuna. -Mavericks Amber Ale (Caramel, toffee, and toast combine with hints of citrus and pine needles from American "C" hops): definitely had depth and felt heavier than what I am used to.

Came by on a windy Friday afternoon to sample their beers. They were out of their Scotch Ale which was a disappointment, but we tried a flight of four. A couple were pretty poor and one was decent, but it was mainly nice to enjoy a drink with a view of the bay. The service was the highlight as our waitress was very friendly.

Went here to get a beer with a view, easy task for a brewery? No, waiter was rood and didn't want to serve us drinks without ordering a full meal.

Love the outdoor patio. Food was well prepared and it was a generous amount. Service was courteous and prompt.

This review will be highlighting the amazing service but what you should and shouldn't order at this restaurant. Walked in with a group of 15 and got a table in under 10 min which was awesome! James picked a great beer for me and got all of our drinks at super speed considering our large party. As for the food I wouldn't recommend the fish sandwich because the bread was wrong for the type of fish and it was underwhelming. I liked my garlic fries w a side of chipotle aioli. The pickle appetizer was delicious(must order).Would have enjoyed ordering the fish tacos with the rice and guac (must! If this is a first time and don't know what to order). I also got a cup of clam chowder and enjoyed it but another party member needed pepper. Wouldn't recommend the po'boy unless you like hard bread. The burger and salad was good. Chicken sandwich was good the cheese on it made it! And the margarita was strong and yummy! -overall group rating of 14 (4kids/adults)

Solid establishment, I have been here before and it has been consistent. Beer is good and although we ate in this time, the nice outside seating with heaters, fireplaces, and wind breaks are nice. Beer is why you come and the food is good too. Poke starter is really good.

Grabbed takeout to enjoy along the beach and was pleasantly surprised by food and service! Food: BC Oyster - 5/5 fresh, delicious oyster (great presentation) Crispy Seafood Sampler - 5/5 also fresh and fried perfectly crispy... had fish and chips, calamari, and shrimp! I can taste the quality of the ingredients and was not disappointed at all! Service: 5/5 Front of the house had a nice and warm greeting! Gave clear instructions on where to order takeout Waiter was kind and gave great recommendations Lots of tables outside so definitely ask for a table outside when the weather is perfect! Will be back when I'm in the area!

Come for AVÔ'S PORTUGUESE FISHERMAN'S STEW: Seasonal mix of fresh fish, shellfish, linguica (Portuguese sausage). Garlic broth with cilantro, fennel, tomato, red and green onion; with garlic bread. A family recipe created by co-founder and owner Lenny Mendonca's "Avô" (grandfather in Portuguese).

Sergio and Jack at the bar were absolutely amazing. Gave me samples of a few of the beers. Great selection of plenty of beers. Excellent food, great atmosphere. Must visit spot if you're in the Half Moon Bay Area or you're at Maverick's Beach.

Dining at this oceanfront restaurant was a delightful experience overall, thanks to its laid-back and chill atmosphere that perfectly complemented the picturesque setting. The freshness of the food ingredients was evident in every bite, showcasing a commitment to quality. However, there were a few aspects that could be improved upon. The chips, while tasty, were unfortunately too salty and oily, detracting a bit from an otherwise enjoyable dish. On the bright side, their homemade fries were a standout, delivering a crispy and flavorful indulgence that left a lasting impression. One notable downside for some caffeine enthusiasts is the absence of an espresso machine, limiting the coffee options available. Additionally, using a smaller spoon for coffee could enhance the drinking experience, allowing for more precise stirring and sipping.Nevertheless, the restaurant's dog-friendly policy is a definite plus for pet owners, allowing them to enjoy a meal with their furry companions in a welcoming environment. In conclusion, this restaurant offers a relaxed ambiance with fresh, flavorful ingredients and standout dishes like homemade fries, making it a great choice for a casual dining experience by the sea. Addressing the saltiness of the chips, using smaller spoons for coffee, and possibly expanding the coffee selection could further enhance the overall dining satisfaction.

Just meh. The waitress was a little overbearing and kept hounding us to order more. We were just having some beer and snacks.
