No onions, No garlic, and No gluten. Yes I know...it's not fun, but I have to manage. I reached out to LoCal Foodz Cali to chat with Sunny when I was first researching different meal prep services. We had a great call and talk on the phone and you could tell he really cared on the phone call. I decided to order my first order with them and placed my allergy specifications at the bottom Delivery note as there wasn't another area to insert a custom note and the allergy button did not have Garlic & Onion as a choice (who would wish such an allergy on someone?!). I received my first delivery, and wow did it smell good!! But that was the issue, if it smells good, in my experience, it probably has onions or garlic haha. So I reached out and left Sunny a voicemail, and of course I was upset & frustrated. The promise he made on the first call that they could handle this type of request and I thought I had followed the instructions properly. I left that voicemail & sent him off an email right after smelling the garlic and onions around 9 pm...he called me immediately 15 minutes later. He was greatly apologetic and told me he would make it right first thing in the morning. They owned up to the mistake, let me keep the food, which I gave to my gf, and brought my new food the next day at no cost. Since then I have made a few orders and each one has been perfect! The measurement aspect is also amazing as I can only eat smaller portions of food per meal which is another story for another time. Sunny is extremely nice and the food is perfect. LoCal Foodz is the best healthy meal prep service in the Bay Area hands down! I've gone through a couple, and nothing tastes better than LoCal Foodz. I love their Cauliflower Gritz and Garlic Steak. I love that you can also make your own meals according to your macro goals. I used LoCal Foodz before my wedding and it helped A LOT! I will be using this meal prep company when I have kids, because it's super nutritious and made for people on the go.

The meals are and have always been quality with the portions accurate to the order specifications.The staff works tremendously hard to accommodate request and they are always looking for ways to improve service and selection. For example, I am big on bison over beef. After several nudges management offered bison as a menu option. Can't thank them enough. Best meal prep company; try them out you wont be disappointed.

Wow, love the food and the idea of clean food with tasty flavors. My favorite was Fiesta bowl with guacamole and shrimp and grits were fabulous as well. Definitely will order again, the delivery was in time as well. Great option if you are trying to lose weight, ordering lunch from here to the office was the easiest thing ever.

Starting ordering from Local Foodz a few months ago and I am delighted to have finally found what I've needed for so long: a healthy, convenient, no-cook meal delivery service that doesn't rely on frozen foods with long-distance shipping and a ton of non-recyclable packaging! I started out using just the Simple Start plan but recently have been customizing more and more. It's a good website and I've had no problems getting what I ordered on time and fresh. I really like I can order once a week, but get deliveries twice a week so that the food is fresh! I also love that I can order meals customized to the calories and macros I need. As a smaller woman, for me, many of the meal kits and delivery services are just way too high calorie, and the ones that are low calorie tend to be disgusting. Local Foodz is actually pretty tasty AND low cal! If I had one request it would be that the standard non customized meals had more vegetables. It's a nice way to get more food without adding tons of calories and fat.

Recently started using Lo-Cal (local California) Foodz. It's terrific. For me, cooking for one is a drag and leads to over-eating. This is a great alternative! I'm doing the 7 day plan, low carb, reduced calorie, there's not a huge variety as each week sort of repeats the exact same stuff. The 7 day plan means two delivery dates so everything stays and is served fresh. The food is yummy, great quality, and perfect for a busy single! The meals are well presented and made for microwave. I'm using a toaster oven and it's fine - you just need to adjust. The company seems to be newer and are making upgrades - according to the website. There's is definitely enough variety for now that I'm not getting burned out on the choices after a month. I'll add to this review as time continues and I learn more. Also the lower 'daily calorie' plans get less expensive - the 2200 cal per day was about $540 and the 1800 is like $375. Both costs are much less than I was spending on weekly groceries/meals out - and NO WASTE! No rotten food into the trash each week because I didn't eat leftovers or cook the menu I planned. I'm loving this!

Not only was the customer service TOP NOTCH, but the food was excellent as well. I was able to find foods both my (picky) mother and father would enjoy, at a very reasonable price. Turn around time was quick, delivery was good. This will now be my go-to place when Mom needs help (and I think she has already ordered more!).

LoCal has been working out very well for me. I have been using their service for a over year now. I like that the meals are fresh, not frozen, and that they are fully prepared. no prep work or cooking. I mostly use the ala carte option to choose the portion sizes and meals best for me. I have used their meals for weight loss, but by no means is their entire selection geared for this. There are plenty of options for folks who want good food without cooking, and for people who burn more calories than I can. I eat salmon two to three times per week! It's cooked sous vide so it's moist. I take the skin off after warming and before saucing (with TJ's chimichurri) so it's not too fishy. I also like the smoked paprika chicken thigh with red pepper sauce and yams/acorn squash. another go-to for me is the chicken bulgogi. I order a side of mushrooms, ginger glaze, and walnuts. I have never eaten consistently heathier at home.
