Longboard Vineyards offers a cool surfer/California vibe with plenty of seating and space to walk around. The wine may not be exceptional, but it's worth a visit. The cozy venue has a clean space, although there's only one countertop for wine tasting. It's within walking distance to downtown Healdsburg, making it a great spot for a day excursion with lunch and shopping options nearby. The Barrel Room provides a welcoming atmosphere with classic surfboards on display, offering a comfortable and unpretentious setting to enjoy a glass of wine and events like independent film screenings.
The owner, Oded Shakked, has a distinct style that elegantly encourages each vintage, each varietal, each vineyard to express itself in the wine. He is a great person to know and he will remain an asset to the industry and region. The winery is known for its fantastic wines, including a nice, generous wine club. Customers can also enjoy a barn sale with 40% off select bottles until the 25th.
The tasting room has a really chill vibe, with surfboards adorning the tasting area and the barrel room. The staff, including Jody and Heidi, are very informative and patient in explaining the different varietals. Visitors can relax in the barrel room, tasting the spectacular wines, and even meet the owner himself. Overall, Longboard Vineyards is a small Sonoma County boutique winery with zero pretentiousness, making it a great choice for those seeking a laid-back and enjoyable wine tasting experience.
