Sugar Toof Reviews
Oh my gosh, this bakery is incredible! From the moment you step inside, you’re enveloped in warmth and hospitality. The customer service is top-notch, and I couldn’t stop smiling. I tried the chicken empanada and the chocolate cannoli, and both were absolutely delicious. I’ve had my fair share of cannolis, but this one truly stands out. The pastry was perfectly baked, and the filling had a delightful balance of sweet and savory. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming...read full review

Sugar Toof is a charming bakery and cafe located in Hercules, known as a hidden gem. The place offers a wide variety of baked goods, snacks, and drinks, with many items displayed in an inviting display case. The bakery is praised for its delicious treats, especially the caramel cake, empanadas, cupcakes, and tarts. The caramel cake is described as perfectly sweet, light, and spongey, with a custard middle, reminiscent of a less buttery mamon. The cupcakes are popular, with favorites like the strawberry cupcake, Biscoff cupcake, and the soft, flavorful ube caramel cupcake. Several reviewers mention the cupcakes are not overly sweet, with whipped cream that is buttery and soft. The coconut tart and strawberry danish are also highly recommended, with the tart having a thick, pie-like crust and coconut topping, and the danish being tart and soft but improved with warming.
The bakery also serves Filipino-inspired treats like empanadas filled mainly with beef or chicken, both flaky and meaty. Beverages include halo halo and Ube tiramisu latte, though some found the latte more coffee than ube or tiramisu flavor. Some food items like the longsilog received mixed reviews, with complaints about the rice being hard and the dish not tasting fresh, suggesting it may not be the best value. The staff are generally friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere, though service quality can vary.
Overall, Sugar Toof is highly recommended for its tasty baked goods, cozy ambiance, and friendly staff, making it a great spot to enjoy sweets and coffee. Visitors appreciate that it feels clean, welcoming, and offers a variety of options, from cakes and cupcakes to savory empanadas and Filipino dishes.
