Awesome spot for hand rolls. Matt was a great server, and it’s a nice place to eat and hang out with friends. Definitely recommend.
What a surprise! The scallop was out of this world! This was such a great surprise! I went in with zero expectations, and, to be honest, enjoyed every bite. I doubled up on the scallop roll because it was unexpectedly the best I have had.
Really good produce, super fresh and flavorful , my new fav Hand Rolls
ROL Hand Roll Bar is a popular restaurant known for its fresh and delicious hand rolls served in a cozy, small-to-medium space. The restaurant features a relaxed ambiance with bar seating, table seating, and some outdoor options, creating a chill vibe that appeals to a diverse crowd, especially early Gen Z and late millennials. The music, which often includes nostalgic tunes, adds to the inviting atmosphere, although some find it loud. The restaurant is often busy, especially during dinner, and reservations are recommended to avoid waiting.
The menu is centered around hand rolls, which are served warm and one at a time to ensure maximum flavor. Customers can choose from a variety of options, including salmon, toro, yellowtail, spicy tuna, scallop, and crab. The quality of the fish is consistently praised, with particular favorites being the salmon and scallop. The restaurant also offers appetizers like Furikake Fries, Chili Garlic Edamame, and Cucumber Salad, all prepared well and tasty. Drinks such as Tokyo Tea and Toji Rita are fruity and strong, adding to the enjoyable dining experience. For special occasions, a matcha cheesecake is offered, which is subtly flavored and not overly sweet.
The restaurant provides good value, with lunch specials like the four-roll set that includes miso soup and edamame, and dinner sets with six hand rolls. Portions are just enough to satisfy without overfilling. Service quality is generally high, with attentive staff, especially at the bar, where the chef presents each roll personally, enhancing the experience.
However, there are some concerns, such as the experience with a chef who was sniffling while preparing food, which felt unsanitary. Despite this, ROL Hand Roll Bar remains a favored spot for sushi lovers seeking fresh, flavorful hand rolls in a friendly setting. The location is closing soon, but visitors plan to follow to other branches, eager to enjoy their signature sushi and relaxed atmosphere.
