“Do not judge the place by how it looks. The food is excellent. Literally home style tasting food. Cannot say enough great things on how delicious the food was. The only issue I have with this place is how HOT it is inside. Geez Luiz it was freaking hot inside. Be prepared to sweat. That is the only negative I have about this place.

“This is a great stop for travelers who are looking for a quick bite to eat and are passing through. El Rancho Café is located next to the post office at the four way stop for Mount Whitney and the 145. It is family owned. The people are friendly and the food was delicious. In the time I was there people were coming and going. They have both sit-down dining and takeout available. Weekend travelers beware: they are only open M-F from 7-2:30.“

The lady who took my order was very nice and friendly. She took my order quickly and made everything quickly as well. Not a ding on Baja Fresh itself, but the bathrooms and atmosphere here aren't amazing. They're decently clean, but it does feel a bit depressing (though of course this is at a rest stop). I thought the price was reasonable (got a burrito, bowl, and chips/guac for $30). The burrito was filled very generously, and there's a salsa bar where you can get as much salsa as you'd like.“
