“We showed up about 30 minutes before closing and they were so nice about it. The food came out quick and hot. It was all made fresh to order and was actually really really good for being out in seemingly nowhere.

The location is scary and the outside looks like a jail but don’t judge a book by its cover. Friendly service and good food awaits inside this cell. As well as plenty of comfortable seating. Worth the short detour for some quality Chinese food.“

El Rancho Café is located next to the post office at the four way stop for Mount Whitney and the 145. It is family owned. The people are friendly and the food was delicious. In the time I was there people were coming and going. They have both sit-down dining and takeout available. Weekend travelers beware: they are only open M-F from 7-2:30.“

“Had an amazing anniversary dinner at Harris Ranch Horse Lounge. The server was top-tier, attentive, funny, and knew just when to show up (or disappear). The steak bite appetizer?
