We visited this place a while ago, it had a great vibe with nice decor—only that the service was ridiculously bad, wish my phone reception was better in the area so I had a chance to look at the reviews. We ordered the cabbage roll to-go, portion was small for the steep price and it was lukewarm.Cash only and there was absolutely no such sign at the door. I’m all about supporting good local businesses but save yourself from this one if you can.

The place looked cute and homey with a bar and other seating arrangements outside, however me and my party sat inside. We were not seated, which i did not mind, we took our own seat and menu and sat down. We were not provided untensils, having to grab it ourselves. We were given bread that was tough and chewy, and i did not personally like the taste. Then our food came out. I had ordered lamb shanks, and the other people in my party ordered chicken vlimer( i am sorry, I don't think i am spelling it right). The lamb shanks had no flavor, and had a lot of bone, the chicken was fine, but the sides did not taste the best. It was really expensive for the amount of food we got, and in our opinion it is not worth it. There is also a plate splitting fee in which if 2 people eat from the same plate they are charged more by 7 each plate. I think this is ridiculous, but oh well. All in all I would not go there again and would check out other quaint restaurants in the area

I loved the decor and the fact that they had old world ambience. When I stopped in there was , however, no lamb shank available. The portion size on the chicken was small too. Nice family owned business. Good service. Menu needs a bit of freshening up. I think this is a good beer and sandwich spot but I would go elsewhere for dinner.

Nothing can end a visit to the beach, than a fine dinner at a great Czecaslovakian restaurant. They've been in business in this location since 1970. That's quite a while. That was about the first time I had come here. We were greeted by the gracious Ms Vladya. Daughter of the creator. And Ms Sally a joyful assistant. We ordered the fixed menu for $31 per person. I had the goulash, and my wife had the paprikasha. YUM Yum yum. Good filling portions. They came with sides ... all homemade. Starting with crusty over. Baked bread, thick yummy pea soup, mixed green and veggie salad, spiced purple cabbage, homestyle potato salad, pickle wedge, and saffron rice with special sauce. Full bar and private parking top it off. Enjoy.

Stopped here on a trip to Point Reyes and left with mixed feelings. To start, the oysters were tasty and fresh, and the bread was warm and delicious! It turned out those two were the highlights of our meal, as the two main Czech lunch entrees we ordered left much to be desired. The beef goulash had very small chunks of meat and the flavor was just ok. The chicken dish had so little meat on the bone that it left us wondering what kind of chicken they sourced... overall a decent place to stop at for a sit-down meal considering the limited options in the area but don't have your expectations too high!

I agree with Dave: Stopped in for lunch on a Friday. Had an absolutely delightful experience and enjoyed the chicken paprikash, apple strudel, and, Kava mit Schlag (coffee with whipped cream and bittersweet chocolate shavings). They bake their bread in house and it was just as delicious as others have posted. Except I had an Irish coffer with real whipped cream. Next time I'll try the Kava mit Schlag.

My wife and I decided to go for a Czech meal to Vladimir's after many years of being away from the Bay Area. Wr ate here many years ago. We are familiar with Czech food because of my heritage and we lived over there. Unfortunately, the meal was horrible. The pork was tough unseasoned and didn't taste fresh. Rice with goulash sauce?! Potato salad and red cabbage with out flavor! No dumplings!!! Expensive!!! What a disappointment !!!!!

This restaurant embodies the word “perfection”. The food so delightful you cry tears of joy. the service so enjoyable you feel as if you are part of a family. The atmosphere makes you want to buy a ticket to Czech Republic. this restaurant thought me life lessons of happiness, sadness, pain, and love. truly a once in a lifetime experience.

Pretty gross actually there was no flavor to the food at all. Food was bland and everything tasted like it was a few days old. No fresh ingredients really. Sour cabbage was disgusting and so was lentil soup. Chicken paprikash I was hopeful for but also no flavor and old meat. The worst thing of all was they charged me $7 for a split plate charge only because I ate a piece of my wife's chicken.

Food was ok, prices were on a higher side . Fish was frozen . Menu says fish and chips but we actually get fries . Ladies were very sweet , service was good but they should change or add some vegetarian option as there was none .

I used to live in the back of the restaurant 20 years ago when the owners Dad still ran the restaurant. He has since passed away and now his daughter runs the family restaurant. Vladia is the most wonderful and sweet lady. She changed the prices on the menu for the first time in about 30 plus years bc she had to. She added a few items which her Dad did not serve such as a chicken salad, cheeseburger and fries, oysters...other than that this menu nor the food has changed. This is not the place to go if you are in a hurry. This is a real dinner folks. She starts you off with homemade rye bread warmed with butter served on a wooden cutting board, followed by homemade and wonderful vegetarian soup(lentil, black bean, cabbage, mushroom, split pea), always vegetarian. Next a small house

Maybe we caught them on a bad day. The food was extremely bland. We had the kolbasa and the lamb shank. Would not have these again. No flavor. Tasted like a microwave meal. Even the sauces were bland. Hopefully their oysters are better.

Delicious & understated. The food here was so so good. I had the goulash and my boyfriend had the cabbage rolls. It came with bread, lentil soup, and salad. Great atmosphere. Will come back again for sure!

UNFORTUNATELY, this food has not even walked around Czech/Slovak flavors. This food has NO flavor, no salt, and meet in goulash (not goulash) was uncooked, and I had to spit it out. This has never happened to me in any restaurant in the world. I am sorry to write such bad review but I don't think it's fair to offer people such bad food for such big price especially.

Small adorable atmosphere. The food is good, and what I expected. My young daughters had a blast listening to live music that added to the feel of the environment. The service was kind and fast
