Louie Oliver's Restaurant & Bar

We eat at Louie Oliver's often and I always order the prime rib. Tonight I ordered my usual medium rare prime rib and it came out medium rare on the top and well well done on the bottom, with lots of fat. It was tough and not juicy. The au juice was reddish in color and tasted weird. I told the waitress this was the worst prime rib I've had, I only had a few bites, her response was “I'm so sorry.” She came back to the table later and said the cook mixed tomato sauce in with the au juice. A $60 dinner went to the dogs. I can't post a photo of the meat or I would. I'll be visiting Burke's from now on.

The most outstanding aspect of our experience is the service provided by the employees and servers. They are top-notch. The food has gone down hill in the past several weeks. Last night it had no flavor or presentation. Although edible, it is not an experience I wish to repeat. It is my understanding that a few chefs have left and it certainly shows.

Took awhile to get our food. It was not hot and one plate (beef) was dry. The server was nice enough to keep us updated. The manager told us that they were short 3 kitchen staff workers.

Always excellent! My wife and I had the NY Steak. Both cooked perfectly, tender and juicy. Wife had a salad, and I had the shrimp cocktail, perfection. Service was spot on. Love this place and will return many times!

Food was good. We enjoyed our meal outside on the patio. Waitress even supplied a table top spinner to keep the flies at bay.

Food was excellent for me and two guests. The service was slow and forgetful on drinks. Wasn't too many people there so I was surprised about the service.

We have never had any bad experience at Louis Oliver's Restaurant. The food is delicious, but wish there was a little more variety. Well worth eating at this restaurant.

Spouse and I have eaten here a few times over the years, and I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal here. Menu is seasonal so there's always a chance to try something different. Service is great as well, everyone is friendly and warm. If given the chance, dining on the patio around sunset is a great option, beautiful views of Amador County.

Oops. They burned the bun on the chicken club. Our server was lovely. She was very attentive to our needs. Not her fault that the food was pretty slow coming to our table. Beautiful setting. The restaurant was very clean and quiet. They burned the bun on the chicken sandwich. The clam chowder and honey walnut shrimp were excellent. The pork chowmein was flavorful.

Music provided by the entertainment was way too loud for such a small venue could not hold the conversation sitting all the way in the back by the kitchen. It was out loud. Overall, service and food was good just way too loud to enjoy dinner and hold a conversation.

We had a great lunch. The prime rib dip makes a filling lunch.

I would recommend this Casino, but kinda like disappointed because I play alot, and i have a Diamond Plus players card and i won 2x with more or less 2K last December. Then January 2025 came and they take away all my perks including freeplays and gifts, plus the fact that regardless of any machines im playing im no longer winning not even the small bonuses.. Then i asked 2 customer representatives and they said “have you won big amounts lately?” And i said yes. And they said “oh maybe thats why!” And i said, wait, what? Are they tracking my game activities and have control of whoever they want to win? And they cant provide me answers. And my Dad has a Gold Players card and he still keeps all his perks. And the customer service i spoke with said, the upper management controls the policies.. And i said, is in it unfair if they do that? Because totally they removed all my perks? And she said, im sorry, i wish i could give you some answers to that.. This is very disappointing because they take away all my perks, my freeplays, my gifts, and it seems like they also have control with the machines when i use my card though i know these machines have Random Number Generators System but i think something is wrong..

Louie Oliver’s is one of the best restaurants in Amador or Calaveras counties!

It's our third time eating lunch here. We arrived before opening, and a lovely young lady greeted us. She was great. Our server made a few mistakes, but I'm not one to complain. We ordered the Louie Burger, minus pickles and mustard. The burger arrived with pickles and mustard. Ate it anyways, I'm not one to send food back. I checked out with my player's card, and the discount wasn't applied to the entre. Overall clean, smoke-free, modern restaurant. Unfortunately, we have noticed that the quality of the food has gone down since my last visit.
