Sol has made a great update from the old El Torrito Grill. The ambience is a nice contemporary Mexican flair with good lighting and the waitress Katie is awesome. I enjoy their chips, salsa, and bean dip. The fajitas are great. My family loved the short ribs and salmon salad. The chili verde was also tasty but needs a bit more meat. My wife has also like the different taco plates. I hope they continue the great service. The only change I would like is longer parking coverage and more spots available in the structure (Tesla owns most of the spots). Enjoy!

Service was not good, they brought out first two plates of our tables food and then we all waited 30 min for the rest of our parties food. If I knew making a skinny margarita was going to cost 5 dollars extra I wouldn't have ordered it. Server didn't ask if we wanted regular or large just assumed we all wanted large and didn't tell me it would cost 5 bucks to make a margarita skinny. Overall this place is hyped for no reason.

The food was delicious and packed with flavor! Our waiter JC made the experience here so fun as he was very personable and patient with us as we were ordering! Ill be back!

We made a reservation for dinner one night and got seated right away. We had the options to choose if we wanted to sit inside or out and we chose outside. Our server was very pleasant and we got chips and salsa when deciding what to get. We ordered the Mango con chile margarita along with the Elote to start with. We ordered the fajita steak and it was amazing it came with a side of rice, beans and tortillas. We got the Caramel Sea Salt Budin & Dark Chocolate Rum Ganache for dessert and it good too. Would recommend stopping here when in the vicinity m.

Came to the Irvine location on May 14th at 7:50pm and sat outside for Taco Tuesday. A female server, who wasn't too friendly, initially gave me chips and water. I let her know a friend would be joining me in about 10 minutes but that I was gonna look at the TT menu and possibly order a drink ahead of time. My friend ended up not being able to make it but I decided to stay outside and was gonna order a drink and food by myself. The server never came back to my table and anytime she walked by I would try to get her attention. I figured she'd come back to me at some point but she never did. At that point it was 8:30pm and I decided to leave. I got my ticket validated for parking at the front and let the hostess know the server never really came back beyond the initial chips and water. I come to SOL often, it's actually one of my favorite spots, but this visit was really, really disappointing.

It was Saturday night and we were looking for a place to eat where we wouldn't be stuck on a long wait list to sit, could talk and not have to shout to hear one another and we could enjoy flavorful food. After striking out at several locations, I remembered SOL was right down the street from home and wanted to try it. I am so glad that we did because we had great service by Blue and Elijah who were really helpful offering their suggestions on their favourite selections. My husband and I tend to get overwhelmed when literally everything looks good! We started with a house margarita and a watermelon margarita - both were delectable- not too sweet, just right. We had the shrimp taquitos for our appetizer and found them to be hearty and a great starter. He opted for a bowls- he did carne asada which was very filling (took home leftovers) and I had a chicken salad with shrimp on the side. The shrimp was slightly spicy but incredible. The overall aesthetic is upscale and the food was elevated. Will definitely be back, especially for a taco Tuesday in the future. Thanks for everything!

The food is an abomination. The service is horrible. I will never come here again in my life. No one in my group enjoyed their food. Somehow they managed to make black beans taste like nothing. The chilaquiles tasted worse than the chips and salsa you get before entrees. The machaca ahogada tasted like it had pasta sauce on it instead of a Mexican salsa. My silverware had food caked on. Our server didn't come by enough. We literally had no water refills until after we finished our meal. We got there as soon as they opened and even then service couldn't keep up. The servers when they did come by were polite and kind. Don't believe the good reviews. The food taste horrible

My recent visit to this restaurant on Mother's Day, following a previous positive experience during their opening, was a profound disappointment. Despite reserving a table over a month and a half in advance, our arrival was met with utter neglect. We were left to languish without acknowledgment until I was forced to repeatedly remind the host of our presence. Finally seated, we were relegated to one of the worst tables, situated uncomfortably close to the bathroom, a far cry from the ambience I had anticipated for my mother. When I voiced my dissatisfaction to the hostess, her dismissive response displayed a shocking lack of consideration for our reservation. As if that weren't enough, the table we were seated at hadn't even been properly cleaned, despite my mother's request for it to be redone. The lack of proper sanitation was not only disappointing but also concerning for the health and safety of paying customers. As for my mother's salmon salad, it met her expectations; however, my own salad was a sorry excuse, wilted and littered with old pieces of lettuce. The only redeeming aspect of our experience was the quality of the alcoholic beverages and the pleasant demeanor of our waiter. However, these small positives were overshadowed by the overall lack of organization, horrible seating location, poor quality food, revolting bathroom conditions, and questionable cleanliness and sanitation practices. In conclusion, I have no intention of returning to this restaurant. The level of disappointment experienced by both my mother and myself cannot be overstated.

Reservation was made for 5 Very incompetent personnel from the greeter to manager starting from the moment we arrived. We were asked to wait to be seated and acknowledged people arriving and were seated immediately and they were asked by a waitress for the selection of drinks. My daughter asked the greeter if a waitress was going to attend our table and that we were ignored We saw greeter tell her and actually saw Manager shaking his head and the waitress still took a bit to ask what our selection of drinks and then manager comes to our table and brought two bowls of guacamole and tostadas and said sorry. Then finally after 15 minutes a waitress came over to our table but her face said it all , which we weren't her choice she tried to be polite, but it kept happening. We were ignored and once we ordered our drinks and appetizers. We also ordered our food as well it took them an hour and a half to bring our food. Meanwhile other tables who arrived after us around 3 families were served. Today was a Mother's Day dinner for me and it was the worst experience ever. I am hoping corporate or higher up puts an end to this type of discrimination being Latino at a Mexican restaurant and pettiness Treat all your paying customers with respect and make sure we all get the great service. I will not recommend this so called restaurant. We returned a 2nd time due to great service the first time but this was not the case this time around. Big mistake!! I thank God that the other servers were polite when bringing our food. Also since we waited such a long time to be served, parking validation was for 1.5 hours only and we were charged for the extra time. We tried to speak to manager and again were ignored and he pretended to be busy and speak with us.

Excellent service and delicious food! We went out to celebrate my mom. We were greeted and sat down immediately. The place is very aesthetically pleasing. We were brought chips and salsa and beans. They were really good! We ordered our food and it did take a while to get the food but the server kept checking in to make sure everything was okay. I ordered the quesadillas, my father ordered the same and my mother ordered the shrimp fajitas. The quesadillas were a great size and they were delicious. The shrimp fajitas were just okay. The wagyu was good and tender but it had a lot of spinach and a little bit of meat. Still had a wonderful taste. For desert we had the churro one and it was just okay. Wouldn't reorder it. We will definitely be back to try other items in the menu! Also, it is easy to make reservations. The only downside is the parking but they do validate for an hour and a half.

Was the worst experience I ever had the pleasure to experience. Maybe I just had higher expectations. We never had a server to begin our dinning experience. The bartender came with water cups saying our server will be us shortly . Someone else came with chips and repeated the same things . After a extended time bartender apologize saying our server was on break and took our order. We received our food, I ordered the octopus and it was disgusting. Not tender and it was uneatable. I didn't complain or make fuss, wife was persistent I send back but I refused. After awhile we realized we where missing something we had ordered. But since we didn't have a server and obviously the bartender was busy with drinks, and we sat in a corner by the bathrooms , only customers pass by . So had to wait to flag some one by. The bartender took care of us as best he could. I don't blame him. Leaving the restaurant I couldnt help but feel like we where discriminated . Could see all other tables had flask of water at the ready. Server giving service. Maybe it was because we had young kids and my son is in a wheelchair we go sat in a corner. Or I'm just overthinking it but that's the feeling I left at this establishment with, manager walk by us when he came by to remove the item we didn't received removed off the bill. Didn't apologize or care. After writing this I come to realize I'm calling and getting my money back, this was unacceptable.

My fiancé and I have dined at Sol before and have had amazing experiences. This time around it was very disappointing. I made a reservation for 7, 5 adults, 1 toddler and an infant. I completely got the reservation time wrong, I thought I had booked for 7:45pm but it seems I booked for 7:15. I called the restaurant to see if they could still take us. The host said yes, I was very thankful they were able to squeeze us in. Upon arriving I checked us in, the host said they needed a second to get the table ready. We sat outside and waited, it was very short wait and we were called back. Once we were walked to our table I notice the high chair I requested was missing, no big deal. The host was lovely and brought one over. Once seated it took around 15-20 min to have a waiter come to our table. They said it was some type of mixup on who was supposed to be our waiter. It took my dad saying something a couple of times for them to finally get someone to come over. The manager did send over 2 complementary guacamole appetizers. My mom and I ordered 2 appetizers, 1 tortilla soup and a street corn. That arrived very fast and was delicious. That made us hopeful that the rest of our night would be better. She and I also ordered some margaritas, a watermelon & mango con chile. Both were delicious, the highlight of the night I would say. The rest of our food arrived, except for my toddlers, which was a chicken quesadilla. I shared some of my rice and beans while we waited for his food, half way through dinner his food still hadn't arrived. I looked around and tried to call over our waiter but that in itself took a good 10 min. Once I did let him know his food arrived 15 min later by then we were pretty much done eating. We tried to order dessert but again we couldn't find our waiter so I asked one of the staff members to please call him. When he arrived we placed our order and asked for the check just in case it took him a while to come back. Overall Sol was disappointing.

Food was great and Server was personable! We sat in the bar area and it had the perfect amount of liveliness without being overly noisy. They also validate parking for 1.5 hours. I will definitely be back again!

Food was good for adults, spicy for kids (when ordered from kid's menu), service was sub par and cleanliness was sub par. The floor on the booth we were seated at was littered with food and trash, and the hose seating is never got that cleaned despite being explicitly asked to.

We were taken care of by Zach. Amazing service by Zach. The food arrived fairly quick for the number of patrons in the restaurant. Chips tasted fresh and the salsas were great. The corn at the table was awesome. Drinks were ok. Our evening was fantastic. Thank you sol.
