It might very well be a different experience when dining in there, but our experience for takeout yesterday was just terrible. When calling to place a takeout order, we were told takeout orders must be made in person at the restaurant. When at the restaurant we were asked why we did not call our order in on the phone. Clearly there is a problem with someone who answers the phone for the restaurant. it took quite some time for the food to be prepared, then when it was obvious that...read full review
We have eaten at The Duke three times now and absolutely love the food! The Chef is amazing! (We learned it is Jason Clevenger.) We are telling friends that The Duke is a MUST VISIT (repeatedly!).
Working there has been a wonderful experience. The vide is relaxed, the food is served quickly and is amazing! Our staff are so friendly and welcoming to anyone who comes in. The culture and history is preserved in the space. Please come check us out!

The Duke Restaurant and Saloon offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with a beautiful decor that complements its western theme. Guests often appreciate the friendly and attentive service, with servers going above and beyond, such as running upstairs to fetch decaf or handling large parties efficiently. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and well-decorated, creating a comfortable setting for diners.
The menu features a variety of delicious options, with standout dishes like the best burger and fries, the bone-in pork chop, and expertly prepared steaks. The ribeye and steak medallions are particularly praised for their tenderness, flavor, and presentation, with one reviewer noting the ribeye's flavor reminiscent of picanha and served with garlic herb butter. The steak medallions are described as juicy and tender, even for someone who typically prefers medium-well. The restaurant's prices are considered fair, especially given the quality of the food.
While some guests mention the absence of warm bread or rolls, this does not detract from the overall positive experience. Drinks are tasty, and the ambiance is enhanced by decorations, especially during holiday seasons like Halloween, when the hotel is decorated accordingly. Despite occasional busy moments and a hostess who took a little time to acknowledge guests, the restaurant's excellent food and service ensure a satisfying visit. The Duke Restaurant and Saloon is seen as a great addition to Jackson's dining scene, likely to become a regular spot for many.
