Stopped while on a day trip to the desert to see the desert flower bloom. Fantastic sandwiches. I had the pastrami and sauerkraut. Half a sandwich filled me for now... Saving the second half for after I trek up and down some hills! Did NOT skimp on anything. Toasted fresh rolls. You cannot go wrong if you stop in here. I know the pie and apple places are alluring but I'm really glad I did this.

I ordered the MoMo and it came out amazing! I've had my fair share of Italian sandwiches from New York and all over, this hands down was top 5. If you're in Julian definitely check it out I will be coming back

I live in Borrego and took a drive up to Julian just to go to Fat Anthony's for lunch. Really cute place with Italian music playing outside. Anthony and his staff are very welcoming and super sweet. Their sandwiches are huge. I got a 6 inch Big Meano and they have tons of toppings to add. I made two meals out of it! I also bought a couple of his parfait cheesecake cups. I had the lemon and the mixed berry. They were so delicious.He had a steady stream of customers and lots of things to pick from to feed your belly. Prices were extremely reasonable for the amount of food you get. I would definitely return to Fat Anthony's to try other menu items. Just go there you won't be disappointed!

We stopped at Fat Anthony's right before heading home. We got a Capo sandwich and a slice of cheese. Both were Delicious!! The pizza cheese and sauce were super flavorful. The sandwich was amazing I have to say one of the best I've ever had. It's a must try. Super clean facility and everyone is very nice.

The service was Almost as Perfectly Delish as the food!!!! This family of wonderful Italian heritage busts their butt to make their customers happy!!! The Capo sandwich exceeded my expectations and was so "extra" I almost couldn't wrap my mouth around it to get a bite (had to squish it hard!) The desserts in the cooler are all homemade and crazy creamy goodness Cheesecakes in a Cup PEOPLE. Lastly the pickles and selection of pickled Italian Vegies, eggs, etc are sumptuous and the giant glass crock they are held in are gorgeous to behold! I also bought a beautiful NY Steak marinated in the house seasonings which was nice and fatty wonderful goodness!! Go, Eat and make sure to TIP GENEROUSLY these people are busting their hump for YOU

Stopped by yesterday for a late afternoon lunch with a few friends. Definitely recommend it! I ordered a 6" Hit Man (salami, pepperoni and mortadella) on sourdough. Super tasty but I was only able to finish half the sandwich. (Glad I didn't get the larger size.). I took the rest home to enjoy later! Very fresh and nicely prepared. One of my friends ordered a tuna salad (they don't have a gluten free bread option) and it was huge. Also very tasty. No inside seating but there is a little park with tables right across the street.

Fat Anthony's deli makes the fattest deli sandwiches. Truly unparalleled. They do not skimp. Also, Mo's cheesecake cups are legendary- a must try.
