Cho Dang Tofu & BBQ Reviews
The food was clean, light, and perfectly balanced—none of that heavy or greasy feeling. Every bite tasted like a delicious, home-cooked meal made with love. I left feeling completely full and satisfied. Will definitely become a regular here!
I ordered the shredded beef soup, which is a luncheon special. The soup I got had noodles and mushrooms, but no beef. I pointed that out to the server and all she said was I’m so sorry. And walked away. I mentioned it to the person at the front desk later and all she said was it’s too late now. I got the check and they took off 20%. That does not seem very responsive to beef soup with no beef. I just paid the bill and left.
Cho Dang Tofu & BBQ is a great spot to enjoy a variety of Korean soondubu jjigae (soft tofu stew). You can choose your preferred spice level when ordering, from mild to very spicy, which is a nice option depending on your taste.
They also offer combo menus that include bulgogi or galbi, making for a satisfying and well-rounded meal.
The location is convenient, close to the 2 Freeway (Verdugo exit), and there is a free outdoor parking lot available.

Cho Dang Tofu & BBQ is a cozy restaurant in a strip mall that provides a warm, homey dining experience. The Korean side dishes are very good, with their kimchi being particularly fantastic. The soups, especially the mushroom tofu soup, are delicious and comforting, with a simple yet flavorful taste that feels like a homemade meal. The restaurant prepares BBQ, which is very good, and portions are generous. Many guests enjoy the galbi and tofu soup combination with egg and banchan, describing it as outstanding. Banchan, including bean sprouts and cucumber, complement the meals well, and the tofu banchan is especially enjoyed. The flavors are subtle yet distinct, making it a favorite for tofu soup lovers. While the ambiance is minimalistic, the decor is nice, and the overall experience is inviting. The service is noted to be fast and friendly, contributing to many guests becoming regulars. Although some dishes may vary in quality, most of the meat dishes and Korean pancakes are generally good. Many guests appreciate the reasonable lunch specials and the late-night hours, making it a great spot for a quick drink after dinner.
