“Absolutely amazing BBQ!!! Nothing was regular or ordinary. The brisket was so tender and tasty and the Blue Masa Cornbread was to die for! Melts in your mouth! And don’t forget the Cole Slaw which deserves capital letters!! The Mac and Cheese (not like any you’ve ever had!) was comped by our new friend who was our ordering coach and it stole the show!! This place is new and Jensen is a class act and his food is BBQ but kicked up a notch !! Congrats Jensen!!!“

“Think of this as a grab and go spot. There's a small amount of seating outside. I didn't like the tri tip sandwich I got and the macaroni n cheese was good. I plan to go back though because there's something else I wanted to try. I love their selection of cobblers too.“

“We are BBQ folks. We smoke our own and have traveled the country trying different spots. There is so much that goes into BBQ. For those of us who truly love it; it's an art form and science of cuts, color, bark, brine -- the whole deal. We've experienced much of the local (Southern California) flavor and have found a few spots that excel. We moved up to Pasadena recently and were Yelping to see if there was a BBQ spot up here that we could try. When we came upon Mission I was skeptical. It didn't make sense that a BBQ spot would do catering and weekend farmer's market stuff. The only way to see if the reviews were legit was to give it a shot. We found the location at the farmer's market tucked away and because we were late in the day, had to pick from the meats that were left. Ribs, brisket, mac & cheese -- and the two sauces they stocked (mild & spicy). Our order was bundled and we brought it home and launched into the meal. Brisket -- soft, moist, flavorful. Brisket is not easy to cook. It can get dry and -- sometimes greasy from the fat. This was none of that. It was excellent -- some of the best ever. 5/5!!! Ribs -- very good. Solid. My personal perfect-preference is ribs that are just a touch less moist -- but we are talking the difference between 98/100 or 94/100. They were solid. Great flavor. Mac & Cheese. Excellent. Texture, color, flavor, taste -- all outstanding. 5/5!!! Sauce. We had a cup of each of their offerings: spicy and mild. Each had a lovely smokey flavor. The spicy had a nice kick without blowing the back out of your throat. Again -- this is a little nitpicky, but we find the perfect sauce to be a touch less sticky. We've had great first meals and horrible second meals at certain spots and horrible first meals and great second meals. We like to try the food several times before writing reviews so we ordered again for another experience. This time we added baked beans, burnt ends, and smoked chicken to the meal. Second time was exactly as great as the first time. Everything was solid, solid, solid. Now -- the thing that gives Mission six-stars is the folks behind the food. These people are dedicated to making a contribution to the world through food as few are. They are kind, generous, dedicated -- truly amazing!!!! Judith and her family are the kind of folks I want to invite over to have the food we just bought from them!!! Wonderful, wonderful people!! Thank you so much Mission!!!! “Updated: I've been to this spot for years and it's still excellent. The base price is $32.99 but if you go at non-peak times you can save money. I still think you can get a great deal at that price point. Efficient service and great food as always.

WONDERFUL! This was my first all you can eat Korean BBQ experience. We came at 7pm and was ahead of the Saturday rush crowd, so we were seated right away. They have two price points with $22pp for the regular menu, which we opted for, because it had over 20 options on it! They bring you 3 selections at a time, and after you order more, the selection portions are halved so you don't waste food. Every single piece of meat was delicious, but the Beef Bulgogi and the Brisket were my favorites. The shrimp were a little hard to eat because they were on the small side and hard to pull the shell off. They also have 2 stations with hot items (appetizers, glass noodles/vegetables, mushroom/broccoli, wings, soup) and cold items (salad, onion/mushrooms for cooking, lettuce wraps, fruit).

The service was good, but they were incredibly busy in taking care of everyone. They were a good team and looked out if we needed a new grill plate, or if were ready to put in more orders.

“Hey guys- just wanted to let you know that at the Whole Foods in Glendale we have opened a new Vegan hot bar. Always a grain, a legume, steamed veggies, a green, and some fancier entrees. Yesterday we had tempeh meatloaf, brown rice, black-eyed peas, steamed collard greens, pesto polenta portabello mushroom stacks, black bean, corn and quinoa stuffed bell peppers, and orange cashew rice. There is also a cold side that had some crazy yummy bhutanese red rice salad with tofu and mango, a couple of vegan salad dressings to complement our salad bar, and a cilantro pesto tofu. It is sold 7.99 per pound and a nice plate of food averages around 5-6 bucks. Come check it out and show some support! I really want it to succeed and then other locations will implement it too! I want Whole Foods to be a Health food store again. I'm also trying to get Heinz 57 ketchup kicked out of there (high fructose corn syrup AND corn syrup) so leave a comment card about how great the vegan hot bar is and how much you detest HFCS in your ketchup!
