I appreciate how easy this restaurant is to find, especially in downtown La Mesa. The ambiance is clean, relaxing, and welcoming. We had a 7:15 p.m. reservation on a Wednesday—before payday—so the wait time was pleasantly short. The wine selection was solid, and I enjoyed a refreshing rosé. There were only two people serving a packed house and they were both extremely attentive and professional. The food however, has never been as good as the wine and atmosphere. The ribeye, ordered medium rare, came out medium well and a very poor cut and way over-salted. The salmon was also overcooked with a side of woody asparagus. I will go back, however, for the wine and service. It's a good place to sit with friends and share a bottle of wine.
