“We had a great time here for St. Patrick's Day. We were excited to try some of the food. However, after paying a cover charge to enter, we were told that we couldn't order the food we wanted. The bar was busy, so we were patient with service, but there we two bartenders who easily handled the crowds and two who were super stressed and somewhat rude. The rest of the staff was good. They had live music and it was a fun atmosphere.“

“I'm absolutely in love with this place! The layout is so unique - when you walk through the "front door," you're still outside; stairs take you down to an outdoor patio with a beautiful large tree in the center. There is a bar out there, though it's been closed whenever I've been, probably because I've never gone during the summer. Once you've reached the patio, to the right is the real front door Lol. Step inside & you'll see a casual typical pub to the right, down a couple more stairs, windows will be open to the patio with favorable weather. To the left of the main entrance is a cozy, mahogany, more formal dining area complete with a fireplace. This layout alone is enough to enjoy a drink or dessert, but the food I've had was delicious, too. I love the "Black Bush Stew," which is a delicious beef stew (generous chuncks) with a dollop of mashed potatoes, 2 lamb chops & a shot of Black Bush whiskey! It's no longer on the menu, but I last went in February & our server was amazing - friendly, funny, & accommodating - & had it made for me anyway! I haven't been on a night with live music, but that would be icing on the cake. Love this place!“

“A true Irish pub in downtown Newport Beach, right along PCH.... The bartender Jo, is straight outta Ireland (Northen Ireland I tinks... ;) She pours the perfect pint of Guinness and keeps the pub running smoothly.... Good vibes, chill atmosphere to have some pints and watch sports (if that's your thang') Great prices, especially for being in Newport... Parking is easy along PCH, or there's parking in the back also... Always a mandatory stop on our coastal pub crawls... Slainte mo'fos...Drink up.... Slan...“

“We were greeted almost the moment we stepped through the front door. After sliding into a booth, our server, Sara, graciously took drink orders. After reviewing their ample menu, we settled on grilled cheese with soup and one of their specialties, fish and chips. The kettle chips that come with the sandwich were amazing! Good tomato soup and hearty cheese portion on the sandwich. Crispy batter on the fish which included fresh coleslaw. Their Happy Hour is from 4-7pm M-F. The menu features a bunch of options that look like good value. We will definitely be back!Cheers!“

“Great place to stop in for a beer and quick bite. Can get crowded during big sports or St. Patty Day. Staff is experienced and friendly. Every food order I've had had been solid pub fare. Exactly as expected. I come often and will continue to do so.“

“Enjoyed the place a lot with friends, especially for a Wednesday night... until the very loud trivia began. Once trivia began is just became more difficult to sit and chat at the bar with my friends. I don't begrudge anyone playing trivia .. but since you are posting the questions on the screen... must you be so loud?“

“Delicious food and fast service! We went a Saturday night for the comedy show, and the Mexican meatball soup was super tasty, it came with a side salad that it was bigger and better than expected (in the picture the salad is half way eaten)I would totally come back!“
“Didn't eat, kitchen was closed after 9 or so.. drinks are reasonably priced, but nice to know they have my favorites on tap.. garage brewing mango hef and space dust... cocktails were nicely poured and the atmosphere is that downhome dive bar feel that makes feel at ease.. will for sure visit again!!!“

“We enjoyed a nice lunch outdoors at Hennessey’s after visiting the San Juan Capistrano Mission. My wife reported that her burger was very good and that the fries were excellent. I found the California Citrus Salad to have an amazing flavor and to be representative of what those of us from the Midwest think of as California cuisine. A combination of artichoke hearts, avocado, olives, tomato, spinach, grilled chicken, cucumber, feta cheese, and Romaine was enhanced by a very nice citrus dressing that added a perfect level of acidity.“

“Very good, nice atmosphere and great service. Pretty good selection of beers on tap and lots of other options too. Restrooms are clean. Not too loud and not too quiet, while also having good location in regards to the beach. Good time had been had here and will be had here.Vegetarian options: There's probably a salad or something given it's in Laguna.Dietary restrictions: I can't say, I didn't order any food.Parking: Limited, especially during busy hours.Kid-friendliness: It's a bar. Don't bring them in.Wheelchair accessibility: There are ramps inside the place.“
