“Always a pleasure to spend time with good friendly company at the Pub. Be it after a Rugby match or an evening of poetry and pipes for Burns Night (the poet and the piper could not make it though). We can always count on courteous and attentive service from Patty and her staff. Not to mention the great food and spirits. This visit was no different with a treat to an authentic four course Irish dinner. We had a great evening with friends enjoying the patio with heat from tabletop fire. There was some live music and basketball game on the telly for those interested. Can wait for the next opportunity to come around. Slainte.“

“Serious locals bar. Great service. Unusually well manicured tap beer selection - nice work. I had a perfectly poured Guinness followed by an HB helles - both in the correct glasses. How often do you get that? Great whiskey selection, if you are so inclined. I was here on a Monday night. There’s a lot of not so ideal bars in this area. This place is an outlier. A true haven of a spot. Look forward to coming back and trying the food.“

Blarney Stone Pub Bar • $

“The bartender, Betsy, seems to know or at least talks to everyone as if they're longtime friends. She instantly made me feel at home in this cozy pub. It wasn't rowdy in there but people were having a good time. I'd definitely return considering I live in east county!“

Guinness Draught Perfect Pour

“I came in here on a quiet Thursday night and was greeted with an amazing crowd doing karaoke. Like my visit to an Irish Bar in Boston, an Irish Bar knows fun!! Drinks are great and so much ample space outside if you want to sit down and catch up with a friend amongst the pandemonium inside. Bartenders are very friendly and attentive! Will come back soon!“

“I live next door to this restaurant, so I am always nearby. Every time I pass by, everyone looks happy, and the front hosts are always nice people. I love their shepherds pie. ? Very good place with very good people. Out of the 2 years I've been nearby, they've never had an off day for me. Can state they have my good review for 2 years in a row. My friends who also live nearby love this place too.“

“It was my day off so I decided to celebrate, let loose and get their delicious LS Philly Cheese-Steak Sandwich (thin sliced house steak, onions, peppers, cheddar on a fresh Amorosa roll straight from Philly), an AleSmith 394 pale ale, their signature ‘Irish Goodbye’ (Proper 12 Irish Whiskey, Bailey's, Guinness) and then a full Guinness from their legit nitro Guinness tap. What a great meal, friendly conversation and all around fun time! I love that place. #LunchOfChampions“

Popcorn

“This is one of my favorite local haunts lately. They have a jukebox that you can change the music on using your phone, they use TouchTunes. They also have live music every single day, so if you're looking for live music to watch with a friend or a date night after dinner spot that is more casual, this place could be for you. I will also say that it is typically not packed unless there is Comic-Con or some other large convention in town. So it's a really great spot in Gaslamp for locals who don't want to fight the crowds, and just want a solid bar. All of the bartenders are incredibly friendly, and this could be your next go to bar. This is not a cocktail lounge, so don't expect anything fancy. Their popcorn is great, and is vegan, using coconut oil. Dogs are allowed outside on the patio.“

The Patricios Restaurant Mexican • $$

“Food was good. Had the surf n turf quesadilla and the birria queso tacos. Drinks are strong and service was quick. Our server was Roseangle. She was tentative, friendly and even though the place was busy she didn't appear to be stressed. Everything was perfect.“
