“Shay is the most amazing bartender taking time to learn people’s names and introduce herself. I had the Red Hot Chicken Sandwich, and every bite was a happy dance (literally, I did a happy dance with every single bite) and the Garlic Parm Fries absolutely amazing, I’ve come to this bar a couple of times but this time I was absolutely blown away with Shay and the sandwich (first time ordering these particular items). Normally bartenders are just like your standard typical bartender small chat and remembering drink orders but Shay’s approach to learn names and ask “Hey Jen, do you another?” instead of just the normal BS. “If you want a spot to watch a Philly game, this is very clearly the place to be in San Diego. I've watched Birds, Flyers, and Phillies games here. It's absolutely packed for Eagles games, with the crowd spread between two indoor spaces and a large outdoor area. IMO, the IPA choices here have been comparatively weak when San Diego has so many great IPAs to offer, especially at both nearby North Park and Pure Project, but there is a decent selection of other styles. However, the pretzel is the real selling point. Whether on its own or as the bread of a sandwich (the Spicy Turkey was recommended to me and it is quite delicious!), the soft pretzels are the real deal. I saw lots of people coming in just to eat, and I can't blame them.“

“I stopped by Lady Carolyn's Pub in Balboa Park and it’s a nice little place to grab a drink or quick bite before a show at the nearby Old Globe Theatre. The setting is pleasant, with outdoor seating and a relaxed atmosphere that’s perfect for enjoying the park surroundings.

I had a beer and a light snack, and while the menu is fairly simple—mostly sandwiches, soups, and drinks—it does the job if you want something quick before heading to a performance. The prices are reasonable for such a popular location, and the vibe feels casual and convenient.

“Good vibes. Great views. Good food. Small tables but it’s ok because they were so cute. My husband got the fish and chips ((coleslaw was the bomb)) I got the surf and turf burger which was pretty good. My son loved his food off the kids menu the chicken teriyaki bowl. Would def recommend. The food is worth the money which isn’t always the case when you’re eating ocean side.“

“Delicious food and drink! I’m from out of town but visit San Diego regularly. I always look forward to eating at Karl Strauss Brewing Co. One of my favorite meals is the black bean burger. It’s so delicious - tastes as good as a regular burger to me. So much flavor. The service is great and employees are friendly. I’m usually by myself so I eat at the bar and they sometimes offer samples of beers that compliment my meal. Looking forward to my next visit! 😋“

“Causal bar/restaurant located within the Sheraton Harbor Island Resort. They were showing the USA soccer World Cup.

The drinks were good and the service at or above my expectation of the Sheraton brand. Food was on-par for bar food as we had a decent pizza for supper, but a less-than Cuban, Cuban Sandwich for our arrival lunch. The sandwich had plenty of decent tasting ham and roast pork, but was devoid of pickle and mustard flavor. The sandwich did come with very good ‘special fries’ (Parmesan) fries and a very good Cuban Mojo sauce to dunk the sandwich in. I opened the sandwich and saw one pickle slice and just an off color of yellow.

Oh, the drinks were good. This Sheraton Resort is pretty spot on for bars and restaurants.

“All of their bartenders are amazing! They have live music every night of the week and do trivia on Mondays at 6:30pm and they also have free hot dogs plus $6 wells & $5 guinness, but other than that they don't serve food but you can bring outside food.“

“I love this spot! Where do I start. Live music everyday brings so much life and energy to this bar and there is always people dancing! My husband has his fishing boat ar Dristols which is how we found this bar. We go here every once in a while when we stop by his boat and its always poppin. They have some good hardy bar foods. We ordered the loaded nachos (which could feed 4 people easily) and the mahi sliders and chili hot dogs - which were all very tasty! If your looking for a fun early evening spot to dance, drink, eat, this is it!“

Rosemary, the bartender, is like the most wonderful grandma you could imagine, and I’ll definitely come back to see her next time I’m in town. We arrived very late on a Thursday, and they took great care of us. The place truly embodies everything you’d hope for from a genuine Irish pub!“
