The best Sushi in the world, with the best sushi chef in the world, KOICHI. I've been there so many times over the last 26 years, and I'm so sad that this location is closing for good. The freshness of the food and the artistic way my food was presented was always top notch! I never had a complaint. Best of luck to San Shi GO forever! I will miss you like no tomorrow....xoxo

Have loved SanShiGo for 33 years in Laguna Beach. Sad to see them go, but will just have to drive up to Newport Beach in the future. Thank you for all the wonderful years here in Laguna. This is truly an end of an era.

We had a reservation @ 5:30. We got there @ 5:30. The Patio was 80% open. The host took us to a 2 top table. I asked for a larger 4 top which We always do and the host told us they were booked??? They're were 5 open 4 tops. And he argued with me!!! We've been eating @ San Shi Go for over 35 years!!! Never a problem. By the way those 4 tops never filled up while we were eating dinner. There still were 3 4 tops open when We left 1 hour later. Someone needs to train the hosts how to observe the table situations. Not a good way to start an evening!!! But the Servive & Food was excellent as usual.

Our experience was not stellar. The bartender was great but our server we had to request if we could place our dinner order. We ordered baked halibut “sushi” and soft shell crab and have never had something so terrible. Sushi in California is rare to mess up. Find a different place to eat.

We love San Shi Go - have been going to this restaurant for many years - former location. New location is certainly larger. BUT the music is too much - way too loud and the wrong type of music. Almost impossible to carry on a conversation with so much background hype. The food is the best, always very pleasant and helpful servers - just fix the music/background noice.
The server was over worked and we waited for a very long time to get our whole order. Was delivered and 3-4 diff times so even tho it was sushi the way delivered we waited an hour to get 4 orders delivered

I had a terrible experience today. The food is such low value that I don’t think it worth the cost. I can’t even tell the difference between otoro and beef. It is ridiculous that this restaurant gets an 4.5 star rating here, you cannot see the sea or anything here. Also we ordered one agedashi tofu in the beginning and it did not even come up after we finish the ice cream. The server is like a student in high school or college here. Never come back again.

I honestly thought the atmosphere would be better but oh well. The sushi was good but nothing special and the service was slow and confusing which servers were ours.

Wonderful Service - thank you to Sam our Waiter for his excellent Customer Service and everyone else , food was amazing , great ambiance . Loved celebrating my birthday at my favorite Sushi Spot ??
I had made reservations a week in advance for the 4 at the sushi bar. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and also had 2 out of town guests. We arrived on time for our 7 pm reservation on a Monday night. We waited over 1.5 hours to be sat at the bar as they had sat people at the bar prior to our arrival and were certain they would be gone before we got there. There were 3 empty seats but we were a party of 4. We were asked if we wanted to be sat at a table in the dining area. I indicated that wasn't acceptable since I had made the reservation and specifically wanted the bar as my husband speaks Japanese and was familiar with the chef. We were told that they expected we would be sat within 15-20 minutes later. So we sat in the bar and ordered a bottle of sake. An hour and a half later we were finally sat. Because it took so long to seat us, we were the last to leave. The place closes at 10, we left around 9:30 and all the chairs had been put up around all the tables. Very awkward. Very disappointing experience.

Absolutely loved it! Took my boyfriend for a special birthday. Service was excellent, Food was excellent! Was seated right away and they brought a special BDay dessert for us both.

Wonderful food and very nice staff. Sam, one of the servers, is incredible and treated my friends and I like family. Highly recommend that others should try this place because you won't find sushi as good in Laguna as this.
