Overall, it was a great experience. The highlight was the scallop appetizer, glazed carrots side dish and the lemon style sorbet dessert. I would not recommend the s'mores dessert as it was gelatinous. The waiter described it as an explosion of flavor, but I did not find that to be the case. The drinks were delicious, especially the seasonal one with blackberry and cinnamon and lemon.  I had the Wagyu skirt steak and was not as blown away as I expected to be. It is a Michelin recommended restaurant so I was hoping for a bit more, yet still enjoyed the experience immensely.

Selanne is our go to whenever we stay in Dana Point. We have been lucky enough to have made friends with the most outstanding server Raphael. Raphael always knows what we will like, he remembers our past orders and knows our drink orders. He is fun and so knowledgeable and he clearly loves what he does and his clients. The food is always spectacular and fresh to the season. We absolutely love and recommend it wholeheartedly.

Such a great experience at Selanne! We had not been there in awhile, and got lucky with a last minute reservation for 4. The restaurant was packed! We ordered the oysters- always amazing. Then shared the filet, sea bass, shrimp, truffle fries and truffle risotto... wow... every single thing we put in our mouth was amazing. Thanks for making our date night with friends absolutely fabulous!

Filet mignon was made to perfection (medium rare) and the mac and cheese was amazing. Overall, the food was great. The table we sat at (indoor, next to the bar and next to the window) had chairs that felt too low and the waiter kept it short with us despite waiting over 40 mins for our food from order time.

Service was excellent, dinner was good and enjoyable, but over priced for the value. The atmosphere was expected to be fine dinning, however our table was near the bar with loud drinkers and sports game tv watcher. Very mixed experience.
