Our waiter, Rafael from Puerto Ricoooooo, was truly the highlight of my night warm, attentive, and full of great energy that made the evening extra special. I loved being seated in the lively area, just as they recommended perfect for people-watching and soaking in the fun atmosphere. The music selection was on point, setting the perfect vibe as we celebrated the night away with beautifully crafted, divine dishes. To top off this exquisite dining experience, the dessert selection was outstanding, and the thoughtful gesture of a personalized birthday note from the team meant the absolute world to me. As always the food is outstanding. What makes this our favorite upscale steak house is the service. From the Hostess, the Wait Staff and even the bus men, every one is friendly, attentive and kind. We have had noticed lately that staff at some other places have become surly and inattentive, but not here. Thank you1

I will definitely be returning. I'm very happy to say that this restaurant is worth the price tag. The food was excellent, one of the best steaks in Southern California, atmosphere great, and service outstanding. I don't feel there's anything you can go wrong with on their menu, from the bread service, to the Mac n cheese, to the aged rib eye, and smoked old fashioned I left more than satisfied.

Celebrating a Birthday, the food was excellent, service was great and would highly recommend. The waiter made he evening, his knowledge and they way he interacted with us made the night. They even surprised my wife with a Cake... which was very cool... .. great evening.
We decided to try this place for our birthday dinner after a recommendation. Absolutely did not meet expectations! Our waiter was cool and nice, but the food came out super slow. We got the beet salad, which was very small and looked like a decoration. Was not tasty. I ordered the ribeye and it was the thickest and toughest ribeye I ever had! My wife ordered the halibut which she said was pretty good. The mushrooms were not as expected and they seemed like a steak topper. Really the macaroni and cheese was the only thing that was good. In my opinion $350 later I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!

Was really excited to dine at Selanne this past weekend given other positive reviews. Unfortunately, our dinner was disappointing. I'll start with the good. The stracciatella appetizer was delicious. As was the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Would order again!! Now to the disappointing part. I ordered the filet medium+ which should have a little pink throughout. The filet came out medium well - completely grey. I did send it back and a new filet was in process. Unfortunately, the next filet came back medium rare. I didn't want to (because I assumed it would be overcooked again) but I cannot eat rare steak so I asked them to refire quickly to bring it to pink vs red. As suspected, it came out overcooked again. I dealt with it and ate it because at that point, my husband was finished with his meal and I was hungry. I wish the temperature was the worst part, but I thought the steak lacked flavor. No crust. Meat was not juicy. It was just not a good steak. Maybe I got a bad one but I barely ate half of it because of the lack of flavor and it being overcooked. We ordered corn, mac&cheese, and broccolini as sides. Sides were good. Mac&cheese needed salt and I would have preferred a cheesier flavor but it was fine. A few moments after the 2nd steak was delivered, the waitress brought over a free baked potato to make up for the steak snafu. I have zero idea why they brought ANOTHER carb when we already had 3 sides. I wish they would have just comped us one of the side dishes we already ordered because we didn't even have 1 bite because we wanted the sides we ordered. Just felt like a complete miss. The meal was very expensive - $350+ for 2 people. We ate way better food for much cheaper at other Laguna Beach establishments over the weekend. Sadly, would not return due to high cost and the product we got for that cost.

This was hands down the best anniversary dinner my girlfriend and I have experienced . From the super professional service to the delicious menu . The detail that made this our favorite anniversary was the handwritten card we received with our complimentary dessert. The words that were written felt so genuine and warm that it almost brought the both of us to tears . Felt like one of our parents wrote it . Thank you so much to Mr. Selanne and his amazing staff that made this anniversary extra special. We look forward to spend the rest of our anniversaries here . Go Ducks .
