My second time here and have to say the first time here wasn't a good experience food wise it was really salty but I figured it was just a bad night. 2nd time around was a complete opposite my wife and I got the Filet Mignon and was perfectly cooked mash potatoes were also a good choice I really liked the place and vibe will definitely return as the service was excellent.

Had a great family dinner here recently. Our server - Jay - was great and very well informed on the menu items. Pros: Craft cocktails were exceptional and not horribly priced at $19. Good app menu and main menu from which to choose. Steaks were done superbly. Scarlet Beet Ravioli was quite good, as were the Diver Scallops and Mac & Cheese. Cons: Lobster Mashed Potatoes at $42 were good but way over the top with butter & salt - and price. Bread Service was interesting but should come with a bread refill if you're paying $10 for bread and butter. Corkage fee of $45 was frankly off putting. I know you want us to buy your wines - and you have an excellent list - but we brought a couple bottles of very nice wine to enjoy with our family. We only opened one due to the fee. If you want to sell more wine, then price them reasonably and I'll buy yours - but 3x wholesale is too much. As it was, dinner was over $125 per person. Would come back more often if corkage was reasonable and we could eat there for around $100 per person.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at Selanne's. The food was amazing! We both got a ribeye, medium rare. My husband got the dry aged ribeye, which I would recommend!! We got the risotto and wild mushroom sides. They were great. If we go again, I'd want to try the creamed spinach instead of the risotto. I'd absolutely get the mushrooms again. If you're considering dessert, (1) do it and (2) get the Chocolate cake & coffee. I've never tasted any dessert that good, next level yum! The service was great and we loved the ambiance of their side room with the fireplace! All in all, we'll be back for another special occasion!!

Recently went for a work event. Ambiance is okay although it was muted by the rain outside and difficulty finding parking. Service pretty good although the private room we were in was crowded. Not enough table space for the dishes we ordered. Had the Wagyu which was a bit underwhelming. Not sure it's worth the premium price since I've had rib-eye that was just as scrumptious.

Selannes offers a solid steakhouse experience with a cozy ambiance and attentive service. while the quality was commendable, it fell slightly short of expectations. I found that some dishes erred on the side of being a bit too salty and the dessert was good, not great. nonetheless, it's a great spot for a satisfying meal with friends or a special someone

Amazing dining experience. We had a private area downstairs with 8 people and we had the best time. From the food, to the service, we hit the jackpot. Our server was the best! We've been here a few times but always got seated upstairs, this time, we asked for downstairs table and it was night and day experience. Highly recommended!

Worth every penny! The service was impeccable, they seated us 30min before closing with no reservation, and the restaurant itself is set up beautifully for fine dining. Our waiter so so nice and friendly, he had great recommendations!! You can tell he really knew his stuff because everything we got that he had recommended was bomb.com! The filet was cooked to perfection at medium rare, it melted in our mouth and the mac & cheese was so creamy and delightful. I would've ordered double mac had I known i'd love it so much!! They even brought out a mini complimentary dessert for my birthday which was so cute. If you are ever in Laguna, you should check this place out

Coming to a restaurant such as this, one expects good food, and we were not disappointed. On top of that the Service was exceptional, our waiter was very attentive, polite and brought us everything we asked for. We have eaten at the vast majority of restaurants in Laguna Beach. My wife and I were impressed, and would certainly rank this restaurant in the top 5 in the city. Thanks for a great meal and excellent service!! We will be back!

My boyfriend and I ate here last night. We had perfectly cooked filets, risotto, carrots, and the BEST Mac and cheese I've ever had in my entire life. Our server, Mariano, was phenomenal. Thank you all for a wonderful and delicious dining experience ❤️

This place is very expensive and just okay. My steak was over cooked the Mac n cheese was very overcooked. The souflee and carrots were both undercooked, and the souflee tasted like Pina colada, which was just weird.
