California Pizza Kitchen Reviews
Good food and great service, very friendly.
My personal anecdotal research shows when I tip for take home, I get a big enough portion to last 2 days (if I order pasta). If I dont tip I get much smaller portion (you are paying when ordering take out IN ADVANCE so they know if youve tipped before meal is made). This has happened enough times that I dont think it is random.
I think it stinks that these restaurants (and this is now a pervasive custom among all restaurants) expect us to pay a tip for picking up take out....read full review
Cpk nailed it tonight. Service was excellent… actually, phenomenal (Hailey and managers). Glad to have it in our neighborhood

The California Pizza Kitchen at Laguna Niguel offers a casual dining experience with attentive service. The menu features delicious margaritas and a variety of pizzas, including the Carne Asada Pizza with green Chimichurri sauce. Customers also enjoy the Caesar side salad and butter cake with vanilla ice cream. The restaurant is suitable for groups, with accommodating staff who can handle special requests. The dimly lit room and TVs at the bar area create a comfortable atmosphere, making it a good choice for a night out or a special event.
Recent reviews highlight that the kids will enjoy the crunchy and delicious fries on the kids menu, which are better than regular French fries elsewhere. While the restaurant offers kid-friendly items and has no stairs, the quality of other menu items like pasta and salads may not meet expectations. Service has been reported as poor, with waiters showing bad short-term memory and needing repeated requests.
Additionally, some customers have noted that tipping for takeout influences portion sizes, with larger portions given when tips are provided. There is also criticism about the practice of expecting tips for takeout orders, which some find offensive. The bread served is very stingy, with the smallest pieces seen.
