Black Heart Coffee Co. Reviews
Been coming for years. Always love it. But the matcha really went downhill in the last couple years. It’s chalky and powdery and taste awful. It used to be perfect. They changed something and we have to pick other places to go if we’re wanting a good matcha. Coffee also changed in that time period. Not as bad tho just a little less good quality. But bc their food is on point and the atmosphere is amazing ppl probably just accept it. I wish they’d go back to the...read full review
Legit one of the best cups of coffee I’ve ever had. The food is amazing as well. Parking can be a challenge but it’s worth it!
This place is so damn good. My wife brought me home the turkey sandwich with chimichuri on a pretzel bun a few months back. Came back today with my mom and had it again. Same results, absolutely spectacular. The coffee is top notch as well.

Black Heart Coffee Co. is a hidden gem in Lake Balboa, known for serving surprisingly good coffee and delicious food in a timely manner. The team behind the bar shows patience and compassion to all customers, creating a welcoming spot for the community. The menu features amazing breakfast, brunch, and lunch options, with standout dishes like chilaquiles, carnitas tacos, frittata, and chicken and waffles, making it a must-visit location that adds culture to the neighborhood.
While the food is enjoyable, some reviews suggest that certain dishes, like the Azalea sandwich, may not meet expectations. However, the Black Heart Latte has a new recipe made with black sesame paste and a little charcoal, which keeps the spirit of the original. The ambience is beautiful, featuring faux plants and artwork, creating a nice environment for diners. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the friendly staff consistently makes customers feel welcomed. Though parking can be challenging, the service is rated well, and many appreciate the friendly atmosphere. Despite some concerns about prices and longer wait times on busy weekends, many continue to return for favorites like the Breakfast burrito, the butterscotch latte, and the delicious sauces. Customers have also enjoyed the gluten-free/vegan dark chocolate loaf and various milk options, including oat, almond, and coconut.
