The food is always fresh. I have tried the fried shrimp, deep fried zucchini, chicken strips and the burgers. The burgers are above average in size and taste, the chicken strips are fresh and flavorful, and the deep fried zucchini comes out smoking hot.
This Lemon Grove Boll Weevil is run by a nice couple who greet you with a smile. Service is fast and friendly. Our favorites are their trademark 1/2 & 1/4 lb. burgers and their chili. We usually enjoy a draft beer with our meal.

I remember the days when Boll Weevil was a thriving mini chain of burger places in San Diego. Today, it has fallen on hard times serving some of the most average hamburgers that are tasteless. The prices here are not cheap. A burger is in the $8-9 dollar range without the matching quality you would expect. It's a shame that things have changed for this hamburger spot.
