Came in here thinking it was just another A&W! Boy were we wrong, this is the number one original one, not the first stand he ever did, but this was considered the number one A&W because the franchisees have kept it going since the 50s. There’s tons of memorabilia and the food is great! They make their own root beer here and the frosty mug has floating bits of ice in it when you get it. The best.
Want a piece of local history? Stop at this A&W. It is the birthplace of their famous Root Beer. They have memorabilia from the early days. Their food is good and the staff friendly. I'm rarely able to get unbranded chicken strips and they had them. They were very good.

A&W Restaurant is a popular spot located in the original city of its establishment. The restaurant offers a wide selection of A&W memorabilia, making it feel like a small museum. It is well-known for its delicious food, including burgers, onion rings, cheese curds, and famous root beer floats served in frosty mugs. The food is classic comfort fare, with lots of fried options that are absolutely delicious and served piping hot. The service is excellent, and they offer kid-friendly amenities such as coloring pages and a kids' menu. The restaurant has a very clean atmosphere, plenty of parking, and is wheelchair accessible. It is a great spot for families and a nostalgic experience for those returning after many years. Visitors recommend trying the double burger for a more filling meal and highlight the root beer as a must-have. This iconic spot is a must-stop for anyone in Lodi, whether for a quick lunch or a trip down memory lane.
