You have to know what you're going into when you walk in... It's not gourmet, but its so homey. Get AYCE spaghetti... $8 and comes with a salad (fresh mozz shreds, get the Italian dressing) and either marinara or meat sauce and garlic bread. Ask for extra sauce.
This is my first restaurant review since 2014, and I feel compelled to write it because the last time we ate at Francelli's, 25 years, YEARS, ago, we'd thought it would be our last time ever, and we're so, so, SO glad we changed our minds. That said, I think it goes to show, that in the food industry, especially in LA-OC, where our choices are myriad, a bad impression can last a long time. Great neighborhood Italian spot. Just get the basics and you will be happy. I get the Spaghetti and Mariana deal, comes with garlic bread and a salad...great deal! Also the penne pomodoro is good! We get the vegetarian pizza often which is super good with yummy crust. I'm glad this place is here.
