Marlena Long Beach offers a unique and adventurous dining experience with a menu that features a variety of small plates, pizzas, and entrees that are both creative and delicious. The Spanish Octopus is a standout dish, described as being so tender that it practically melts in the mouth. Guests also enjoy the agnolotti, halibut, and pork chop, which change throughout the year, giving diners new options to try on each visit. The pizzas are excellent, and the flavors truly dance on the palate. The food was outstanding, with favorites like the turbot with artichokes, the chicory salad, and grilled cauliflower with breading and spices. The atmosphere is super pleasant, and the staff, including a helpful and attentive server, are praised for their expertise in pairing drinks with the food, creating a harmonious dining experience. Many guests have shared that the staff are kind, personable, funny, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance is clean and chic, making it a great spot for date nights, celebrations, or casual get-togethers. The restaurant is considered a neighborhood gem that shouldn't be missed. While some dishes may have missed the mark for certain diners, the overall consensus is that Marlena is worth visiting for a taste adventure that excites the palate. The coffee, including the perfect coffee served alongside the breakfast sandwich, has received positive remarks, and many look forward to trying the burnt basque cheesecake for dessert. Although drink service could be a bit faster, the charm of the restaurant and great service keep diners coming back.
