New Mexican Restaurants near Long Beach, CA

“Not sure why all the bad reviews. We stayed at the Hyatt centric and kalaveras was a short walk. Everyone from the hostess,server bartender…pretty much everyone there was amazing. I’m nobody but I felt like I was somebody by the way they treated us. Food was delicious. We tried the quesabirrias and the tacos governadores. Both were good but the gorvenador tacos were my favorite. Also had a michelada and a drink called the vela which had tequila,mango,mezcal and other stuff. Both hit the spot!We had the flan which was creamy and delicious. Good size dessert for 2 people. On top of all that the decor was pretty cool. Worth stopping by and don’t get pushed away from the bad reviews“

“Awesome Chile rellenos the only issue I had was a bit pricey for what I actually got my girlfriend loved it we actually went back for more two days later we asked for chips and salsa I got a nice big bag with a large container of salsa so all in all a nice place to visit I just wish it was a little less than almost $20.00 for 2 Chile rellenos with some lettuce on the side and pico de gallo still ok once in a while but if you have the budget then yes I do recommend this place as a nice way to spend a nice evening with someone special dating etc.“

“We drove around yesterday and found this hidden gem! Omg was i suprised! We ended up getting the Molcajete for 2 and ended up leaving with leftovers! Huge portion for the buck! Plus fresh hand made tortillas topped it off! My other family members got the huge packed quesadilla for my grandson..amazing! The 3 tacos plate combo with beans and rice! Delicious! And the Carnes asada and shrimp plate! Did not disappoint! They got fresh aguas frescas, we got the horchata. And the employees there were so polite and were so attentive to us. Im definitely coming back to try everything on there menu! Stomach fell in love with this place. Need to visit for the prices! Help support small family business like these!

Vegetarian options: They have the options to provide a vegan meal as long as you order specifically what you want them to add to your order and im sure if you tell them you are vegan, they will make sure to attend to your accommodations.

Parking: There is parking in back by the Barber Shop or 2hr parking in front. Plenty of time to eat.
