My parents came into town to visit for the holidays. I took them to the Queen Mary in Long Beach, Ca.
Not for the festive ice skating but for MURDER!!! Mystery show. The Dinner Detective, it was fantastic!!! They loved it and so did I. What a perfect evening they were able to see the Queen Mary and enjoy a interactive show. The food was amazing and the performance was to die for "no pun intended", actually yes pun intended. Thank you all so much.
Glad I was able to park there while cruising. Very reasonable.
The food was not that great

The Dinner Detective True Crime Murder Mystery Dinner Show in Long Beach, CA offers a fun and lively evening of entertainment. The show is set in a ballroom at the Marriott hotel, which is clean, nice-looking, and equipped with comfortable chairs. Audience members, seated at tables for 10, enjoy engaging interactions with actors who are fun, humorous, and often intermixed with the guests. The night features a murder mystery plot that keeps guests guessing until the end, with clues that require attention to detail. Some guests enjoyed the cheesy, 'bad' acting and hilarious characters, which added to the fun and humor of the night, making for a terrific experience. The storyline may feel a bit underdeveloped at times, and the ending can seem a little random, but overall, guests find it entertaining and unique.
Food served includes a salad, with main courses such as chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies, a vegetarian stuffed poblano pepper, and fish options. The food is generally good, with generous portions, and some guests particularly enjoyed the vegetarian dish and red velvet cake dessert. The bar is cash only, with mixed drinks costing $14, and an ATM is available in the hotel if needed. Service staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a smooth experience.
While some guests found the room layout and timing of the meals to be less ideal, the overall atmosphere, engaging actors, and the interactive puzzle make for a memorable night. Many guests look forward to returning, especially as the show rotates new scripts later in the year, making it a fun and different way to spend an evening in Long Beach.
