Barista society is a good place to get coffee. I give them a lower rating because they aren't consistent I would say. I got an amazing machiatto there and the next time it was not very good. Especially for how pricey they are. Also their customer service isn't consistent either. There are people I like and people that I wont go if they are there.
I moved from New York and was looking for a good coffee, some pastry, nice music and after visiting a few spots in Los Angeles my friend told me to go there, and I'm so glad I got it. My first visit went great then i go back again. So coffee and food really yummy and tasty, espresso was flavorful and aromatic. Second time I had latte with almond milk and chocolate cake. More like 4.5 :-) There are actually two Barista Societies in Downtown LA that I know of. Another one is in the US Bank Tower and that's the one I usually go to. The coffee is excellent! I usually get a dirty chai or a iced mocha... The coffee is smooth and not bitter, definitely more premium.
