Good food, fast service, a bit too noisy, but nice vibes.

The food was amazing. The sweet potato was something I never had in my whole life. I have been to 39 countries for work and have eaten so many foods and I have never tasted anything close to it. The aburi salmon was delicious as well. However the star of the show: Our server Nic. He was one of the best most down to earth servers I have ever had in my life. He was patient, recommended the best things on the menu including the sweet potato. And my glass of water was never empty. You would think going to a trendy restaurant that maybe there would be a stuck-up atmosphere. But no all the servers and waiters were extremely friendly. Although the sweet potato is not something I had before in my life, I think Nic was one of the best servers. I got. Although pricey it was worth any penny. We'll be back in a week.

For my personal tastes, the food was pretty over-seasoned and too salty. Wish the flavors were more balanced but I guess this place is trying to smack you in the face with its tastes.

Dragon roll - little confused by the concept of pressed rice. Smushing sushi rice together detracts from the flavor and just makes the overall texture less enjoyable. Eel was solid but didn't taste much of the tiny layer of smushed shrimp tempura.
Yakitori - every bite of this was like having a sodium bomb smack you in the face.
Scallop Crudo - was probably the most enjoyable but there was too much coconut foam and not enough acidity to let the scallop really shine. Felt lukewarm in the mouth, wish it was colder.
Sweet Potato - thought this was grossly over soaked in butter and salt for such a tiny piece of potato.
Rab mule cocktail - way too sour for my tastes. This was much more like a sochu sour.

Great food, great service and great atmosphere. The food is small bites and great to share. We ordered 7 dishes for the two of us….it was too much food. 5 dishes would have been perfect. The service was really great…friendly and attentive. We also loved the music and overall atmosphere. Looking forward to going back with some friends.

Great food. Great drinks. Service had a small break halfway through the meal which was perfect. The dessert was good too! No complaints at all.

Sat at the bar. Meal was going relatively well until the server dropped off our check before we were done eating. We asked to get another round of drinks and he said, “okay but you have about 15/20 more minutes before you have to leave,” which wasn’t the right way to handle that interaction.

At that point it hadn’t even been close to 90 min and we were sat next to an older couple who had food on their table before we even showed up and were drinking a ton (read: they were visibly drunk). We asked if they were also going to get booted and he said he had already informed them, which was BS. A while later we saw him ask them to move to the outside area but he offered them a round of drinks on the house to encourage them.

The food was good. I liked the spicy tuna hand roll, naem sausage and negima skewers. The budo gnocchi was not for me. Too rich and gummy.

The whole server thing soured our experience. For a several hundred dollar meal, it felt like we were being reprimanded just asking for a second round of drinks. We aren’t the type of people to take up seating for an overly long time. Shitty feeling and not worth it.

Small space with neon signs and loud music, not particularly upscale and a bit tacky but I think that’s the idea? We had a 9pm reservation and at 9:40 they told us the kitchen was closing so it was last call. After a lot of pressure to hurry up and finish ordering, we finally complained and then they were way more accommodating.. but it really put a bad spin on a special date night. Some food bites were very tasty, but a lot of it was too heavy/oily for my liking. Wish I had realized it was more bar food and vibes before choosing it. Not bad just overhyped. Had they not tried to rush us it’d be 3.5 stars IMO.

I still drool thinking about this meal. We ordered 8 dishes and all were delicious! My favorite was the miso butter sweet potato but forgot to take a pic of it. Soft serve machine wasn't working so we sadly couldn't try it.

Intimate cozy japanese izayaka/bar. Cool vibe and great service but the sweet potatoes were a let down. They weren’t sweet and the sauce on top overpowered it. I love sweet potatoes and go out of my way to go to an asian grocery to get korean sweet potatoes or satsumaimos. If potatoes were sweeter it might balance the sauce better. The handroll was good though. The Naem was alright.

I was too busy groveling over the dishes in front of me to take many photos, but I can assure you this place is worth the visit! In order of dishes from least to most favorite:

4. Chef salad
3. Dragon Roll
2. Budo-gnocchi
1. Hamachi Collar (special)

Overall the chef salad and roll were fresh, delicious and had beautiful presentation, but we felt like they fell a little flat on the flavor profile. The gnocchi and Hamachi collar were incredible. So rich!

Two of us shared these 4 dishes and felt like it was plenty of food. Also do NOT pass on the black sesame soft serve. Wow!

Oh! And the staff was friendly :)

Had an incredible experience! The food was absolutely superb—favorites included the tuna roll, sweet butter, Naham, and salmon roll (honestly, I could keep going…yum!). Our server, Colton, was fantastic—so attentive and knowledgeable about all the delicacies. His recommendations were on point!
