A blast from the past. Our food was excellent diner fare! Dont miss their deviled eggs sppetizer! Large portions. I love 50s diners! Lots of parking in back and on street. This place is gonna be a regular stop for me.
I had a burger and onion rings. I took an order home for my brother and split mine with my 98-year-old mother. And they join my opinion, that was the best burger ever ...cooked medium-rare ideally by the chef. With avacado, lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion, mayo ... what a fantastic burger. Oh, I won't be going back to Cafe 50s soon? You know I will! Ask for Victor, A real gentleman.

Excellent! Fun! Relaxed atmosphere! Great customer service! Clean! We had a delightful time. We got a top (little toy) each of us to play with as soon as we sat down along with our menus. A few minutes later, server came by to offer us some-kind of little trinket (toy) to play with (it curls up).... Sooo fun! And a few minutes later came by again to offer us little sheets for guessing on the Oscars for best pictures, actors, etc. the food was homey (good) and the shake was yummy (nice and thick). I definitively do recommend. parking is a bit tricky. but, do not let that discourage you. there is street meter parking if you are fortunate to get a spot.

Pretty decent root beer and ice cream. Everything you’d expect out of the classic 50’s American diner; the food, the music, jukebox, the dining sets, the menu options. I must have been 11 last time I went and it hasn’t changed. Super friendly waiters.

Transporting diners back to the 1950s, the 50's Cafe Diner exudes retro charm from every corner! Service is friendly but slightly lacking in attentiveness. The "Father Knows Best Omelette" is basic with no standout flavors. Good for those sensitive to spice. Lunch and milkshake options look promising, making a return visit tempting, but maybe not for introducing new friends or family.

I’m a year and a half late writing this review. But that’s how great this place is. I just don’t write reviews. But I promised myself I’d write one for this place. Better late than never. All the time I think about the how good the food was, wishing I could go back! I’m from the East Coast so unfortunately I can’t easily go. If I lived in LA I’d prob go several times a week. I have never had better waffles in my life. And I’m not even much of a waffle eater. But those were so good. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was nostalgic of a time long past, kept alive by memorabilia filling every square inch. The staff was SO friendly. Got to speak to the owner and his passion for running the place. Boy, it was so refreshing to talk to someone who truly loved what he did and cared deeply about his patrons and the service they received. If you’re visiting LA, this needs to be top on your list for a fun food destination. And if you live there and haven’t frequented this local establishment to help keep it running, shame on you! Thank you Cafe 50s, for making our last stop in LA so memorable. May you continue your service to the community with prosperity.

This place is filled with 50s memorabilia and if you see from that time (and still alive) you will definitely love this place. It even has a working jukebox! Wake up granny and let’s go back to the 50’s!!!

This place has an old school approach to customers and I absolutely love it they sent this newsletter and little ring and sucker and thank you note with my pancakes order and it really made my night. Reminded me that some people really care about their businesses and their customers and I will be going back because we need to support places that still do stuff like this with their time and money. ?❤️ and the food was bomb and STILL HOT by the time Uber eats got it to me? 10/10 love them

Nice if you are looking for a fun environment, less so if you want a meal. Staff were effusive (take that as you will) and food was somehow too salty and bland at the same time. But it is diner food so don't go in expecting a Michelin starred meal.

I used to love it here. The ambiance is great, warm, 50s. The food is ok, I prefer the breakfast. The milkshakes are good although the butterfinger shake has zero butterfinger in it. Service is usually pretty fast.
