Mango chewy ball with mango ice creamI loved how refreshing and textural the mango chewy ball item was. The mochi balls were wonderfully chewy without tasting sweet. Very different from the fresh, sweet mango chunks and ice cream. The shop received a mango shipment while we were enjoying our desserts, so we knew the mangoes came in fresh!
Oh my goodness. I love these desserts. The pudding, custard, coconut cream, or whatever you wanna call it, with little mango bubbles and the rice chewy goodness! I've never tasted anything like it but absolutely love it. Sweet and delicious but not too sweet. I wish it was closer to home.

Originally from Hong Kong, Hui Lau Shan is a shop that specializes in mango flavored drinks and desserts. I visited their location in Sawtelle Japantown in West LA. There is a free parking structure which is always a plus. Since I love mangoes, I had to try one of their mango drinks. There was a variety to choose from, but I ended up going with the Mango Swirl ($6.50).
