I ordered the spicy pork ssambap, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. The pork was delicious, and the seasoning was just right—not too strong or overpowering. It’s not a big restaurant, but the food and service were both excellent. I really enjoyed my meal!
Everything was satisfactory, but some of the food items were significantly delayed, possibly due to an oversight in the order or a backorder situation.
Ah, yes, the taste of MSG and ahjushis sharing a jjigae around the TV. This is my vibe. I think what’s even more astonishing about this place is that at night you don’t even have to fight for parking. They got the whole lot available for themselves and their patrons. This is striking gold in Koreatown. Anyway, this place feels like it’s one of the old vanguard establishments of Koreatown. It feels like a mom-and-pop, hole-in-the-wall spot that is cozy, very casual, and pretty clean. The menu is simple and traditional, offering authentic Korean cuisine. Meals mentioned include yukgaejang, kimchi jjim, bossam, budae jjigae, pork gukbap, gamjatang, naengmyeong, galbi-jjim, chicken with ginseng soup, and Spicy Skirt Fish. The food is incredible, fresh, hearty, perfectly seasoned, and top notch. The pork gukbap is incredibly tasty and authentic, while the galbi-jjim provides the right amount of protein. It is frequented by local Korean people and offers very reasonable pricing. This place is a new favorite for pork gukbap and is worth keeping as a little secret.
