La Favorita Tortilleria is a family-owned spot that has been serving delicious tamales for decades. Despite its humble appearance, the quality of the masa preparada is consistently great. Customers drive from far away for the pork and chicken tamales. During the holidays, the staff is friendly and helpful, but knowing some basic Spanish can be handy. The prices are reasonable at $1.75/lb. Although a recent experience with hard hominy in the menudo was disappointing, this longtime customer is willing to give them the benefit of the doubt due to their longstanding positive experiences.
