Lapaba is owned and partnered by famous restauranteurs Nancy Silverton, Tanya/Joe Bastianich, and Robert Kim and led by husband-wife chef McKenna Lelah and Matthew Kim who met at Osteria Mozza. Lapaba certainly flexes its expertise in Italian cuisine, however as many other reviewers have pointed out, the menu offerings and execution misses the mark of Italian-Korean fusion. Very solid place though I dunno if I was blown away. While it brands itself as Korean / Italian fusion, it definitely feels more Italian with hints of Korean influence.
We heard a lot about Lapaba via all the influencer videos and finally got a chance to try, and came to an agreement that Lapaba is a pretty good Korean Italian fusion spot that has a lot of style and some good notes with room for improvement as well.
The first thing you notice coming in is just the nice, modern and sleek look inside with braided rope lining the walls and a nice countertop with some light tan lighting. It's a great look and reminded me of New York.
