The fish cooking and quality of the fish has improved a lot. Those pepper and pickles could be placed in a separate container. My true recommendation are change the brand of French fries!!! Please consider getting the fries from another vendor. They are super dry. The fries need a condiment to be remotely swallowed. Personally, I like my fries plain. None of us could deal. We tapped out! Eat these fries in the presence of others in case of a choking emergency. I am seriously concerned.

Mel's was once the go to fish place. Our office even had them cater lunch on several occasions. I recently ordered a couple of shrimp and fish plates and I was disappointed. The food was cold and oily as if it had been sitting out for hours. I won't go back.

It's truly a shame that Mel's Fish Shack is closing its doors. As the only standout fried fish spot in West LA, it's been a go-to for seafood enthusiasts. Personally, I've always enjoyed their sole fish dinner; it's cooked to perfection every time. The closure leaves a void in the local dining scene for those craving quality fried fish. Farewell to a beloved neighborhood gem. I believe they will have a deliver options.

Fish was decent, the sides, not so much. There is no ambiance because it's a walk up window, but the service was ok. Good for something quick and inexpensive if you're in a pinch.

I ordered the fried sand dab, shrimp and oysters combo this Friday. All tasted like last weeks grease. Change your fish frying oil on a consistent basis. Back in the day this was the go to spot for fresh fish. Unfortunately that is not the case anymore. Choose another spot!

I was on my way to get chicken wings but drove past Mel's Fish Shack and am so happy that I chose Mel's instead! Oh my, you guys, I promise you won't be disappointed! It's a bright and lovely shanty at the corner of Jefferson, close to La Brea. Wow! The fry meal and seasonings combination is honestly one of my top two in Los Angeles. Everything is fresh made in-house. The menu is simple, client service is swift and sweet, and the food is made to perfection. I'm salivating just thinking about it! ? Can't wait to go back!

There's no where to sit and eat. It's a take-out spot. Not like before.
