I always take out of town visitors to the Getty Center. Not only are the site, views, gardens, architecture, and art collection marvelous — even inspirational, but you can count on a wonderful meal at the restaurant. This time the Cantaloup Gazpacho lovely, it was a surprise since I'd not had it before. Perfect for a hot summer day.

The restaurant at The Getty Center offers an exceptional dining experience with a spectacular view. The food is delicious, featuring bold and well-balanced flavors, beautifully presented dishes, and highlights like the French toast, salmon, and pork banh mi. The steak salad was especially praised, with flavorful thinly sliced steak, grilled vegetables, greens, and thin fried onion rings. The dessert menu includes a chocolate dessert covered with a crunchy chocolate shell, smooth chocolate, and caramelized cream inside, all topped with chocolate crumbs—an outstanding treat. Guests can enjoy the lovely grounds and gardens before or after their meal, and the tranquil atmosphere adds to the overall experience. While the prices are a bit high, the quality of the meals and the commitment to cleanliness make the visit worthwhile. The staff provides attentive service, and the view of the city from the outside terraces is often stunning, especially when the weather clears. An Open Table reservation is recommended to secure a lovely table, especially those by the window with a water view.
