I just ate here and i was NOT happy. I ordered 51.Mussels Soup and Stirred Squid. The squid is OK, but compared to similar dish around this area, it’s below average (try Dan Sung Sa and Chunju Han-il Kwan). Now, the mussels soup- there are shells but no mussels’s meat. The mussels are either not fresh that it dissolves or they overcooked it that it shrinks. There are like 7 SMALL shells and ONLY 1 that has a visible meat attached on it but that alone is not a whole one. (please see photos). I dig into the soup and checked the pile of beans spouts maybe all of it was removed from the shells but nothing. Mind you I have not chewed a single mussel meat in this soup. For a $25 for shells and beansprouts is a joke. (try mussel soup in Dan sung Sa, the mussels are jumbo and fresh. I dont recommend it and it is very disappointing.

We had dinner twice at this restaurant. The quality is consistent and the portions generous. What makes the experience different is the warmth and friendliness of the server. I believe he is the owner but his service skills are top notch. He deftly transfers food from larger plates to make room for additional dishes. He brings all the sauces and extra plates without us asking. He even overheard me asking my husband for a sample of his dish. And out came a bowl on my end of the table. The business is nestled between Hangari and another Korean restaurant. So it is easy to miss with the lines outside.

If you are looking for a humble place, highlighting Korean style raw fish dishes, coupled with old favorites like fish cake soup and kimchi fried rice, please give sea story a try. The atmosphere is simple but the service is skillful and sincere.

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I’ve been here before and the seafood is simply not fresh - especially at this price point. Go to any proper omakase in little tokyo/san Gabriel valley for better sashimi. IKI nori and iki ramen also do it way better. The sashimi here had an extremely fishy aroma to it and tasted rotten. They also require you to show ID at night to dine in even if you do not wish to order alcohol. The male host/server at night is extremely rude and yells at the customers. Management should consider closing the restaurant or rehiring/retraining. Food safety inspectors need to check on the freshness of the produce. It is unacceptable.

Terrible food!
It was late and this was the only place open, so I went there once and was very disappointed...
In particular, the sea cucumbers and sea squirts had a very salty taste... The quantity was too small for the price... I wonder if the owner is managing them properly...

I ate two Dungeness scraps about a month ago.I remember the price was over $80 a piece.I drank a bottle of beer during the 40 minutes of steaming the crab, and there was no ski dashi, so when the crab came out, I thought I would give it up, but then I met a crab, and there was a ski dashi before, but why was there no ski dashi?I think so. I ate raw fish.Ah- it's a waste of money ㅠㅠNo, I ate 200 dollars - I can't be bitten because I don't have skis againThey gave me two scrambled eggs for service.I felt so young..Still, it was late and the owner was kind, so it was an expensive place to go...Ah... I don't think I'll be back ㅠㅠ

A complete rip-off

Freshest steam lobster I’ve tried in LA. Growing up from a place with fresh steam seafood culture, this is so far the only place meet my standard.

False advertisement. They have a poster for $99 combo on their window. What we got was missing few of the items like raw crab and pancake!Bad taste - bitter fish and sea cucumberBad service - lady was annoyed when we were always nice and appreciative. They were not even busy, there were little customers.Expensive - but what for? Not worth itLiterally regret coming here, all the other restaurants in the same plaza has great food but this was a big miss. Will not come back and not recommendThe google review seemed good but I think they’re fakeSave yourself money and time and go to LA Sashimi instead for live seafood, also in Korea town! Tastes much better and even though they also do not speak English they actually make effort to communicate and is very friendly

I ordered the sashimi large plate for 4 people. I loved various side dishes and they were yummy! Sashimi was fresh, texture was good. But the amount was not enough for 4 ppl. (Probably because we are sashimi lovers!) Maewoontang (spicy fish soup) was not traditional Korean flavor but it was good. They also have Korean soju and beers ?. The server was very friendly and nice. The only downside is the price -it’s a little bit pricey ?

They are not telling truth on review. Their family must be writing the review. Owner has no interest to running the business. Food service was bad as it can be but the price was rip-off. They should close down business.

I wanted to try something different than korean BBQ. I found a place on yelp where they have korean halibut sashimi. When I walked in, service wasn't so great. Took a while to get water and menu. We ordered live fish assorted large. We also wanted Raw crabs and live octopus but they didn't have any. I was worried if we will have enough food. Waiter said don't worry and we will be full. And I'm glad I listened to the waiter. Few minutes later, server started to bring food. porridge, korean seaweed salad, abalone sashimi, squirt fish, corn cheese, steam egg, oysters, octopus (not alive ones), rice soup, fish soup and main sashimi. We had 6 people table for 4 and our table was so full that we didn't have anymore space. All dishes were so delicious! It's just like what I had in korea. I would definitely come back for more! It has been a great experience!

There was a lot of disappointment
When I entered the restaurant, it was a Sunday evening and there were very few customers, so I thought I would just leave, but since the review was 4.3 points, I decided to just eat there, but I was very wrong.
First of all, it is difficult to see people working. They don't even give me water, just give me the food I ordered, and then disappear. The rice is about two days old, and they also give very little sea urchin, sea cucumber, etc.
The only side dishes are smelly kimchi and spinach.
I wanted to eat crab, but there wasn't even that, and there was a lot in the restaurant.
I did an advertisement.
