FOOD solid 3 (3=A-okay) EXPERIENCE 5 SERVICE 4 (4= I'm a fan), busy day There are places you go so you can say, "Yeah. I've been there." This is one of them. Some people will die for it, and when you go (you WILL go), you'll say, "I can see why they might love it." But despite its charm and history, you might just say, "yep." PARKING. Came on a weekend at 4pm. There was plenty of metered street parking available all around. SEATING Come with your whole party and get a spot at the counter. Comfortable swiveling chairs that are high stool type. You might stand waiting for a spot for a few minutes. Patrons seem to eat their food and bust outta there. Nobody is pulling a laptop out and sipping their coffee here. There is outdoor seating and a take away window of you prefer to eat al fresco. (Order a pie for home) THIS IS A FUN SPOT to bring your tourist or "new to LA" friends. The burgers aren't anything fancy. (Neither) Tucked in little paper wrappers - And rated flatly as "they're okay" by fellow diners. THE PIE is good. This is what you should come for. If you're vegetarian, skip the sad grilled cheese. It's serviceable? but not worth $7. GET FRIES AND PIE instead. You'll be much happier. Oh the fries? Get those even if you're just there for pie. My review? EXPERIENCE PIE

Absolute classic. Delicious burgers, delicious fries, pie was tasty and overall it was great. Servers were also extremely friendly. No reservations, no tables, just a big U-shape bar to hop into. I'll be back!

Cheeseburger was delicious!! It had such a unique flavor but also traditional. I love their soda options. They have really stuck to their original decor which is so classic and cool. Huge outdoor space as well. Great staff.

This Classic joint is a piece of L.A. nostalgia. Can't leave the place without getting pie every time I go. The burgers are epically delicious! The fries fresh and crispy! I went with the double patty Hickory burger. If you like a deep smokey flavor Hickory is the go too.The wife went with a single Steak burger W/cheese. Needless to say she throughly enjoyed.And yes, we got their Famous Apple Pie! Like I said, can't walk away from the place without taking home a pie!They offer a a wonderful selection of pies that are to die for but the Apple pie is where it's at. IYKYK.They offer other sandwiches on their menu. I haven't really tried any of them because Im a burger fiend. Sorry not sorry?

Service is first rate and the burger is perfect. You need to eat here because it is a land mark and not a corporate cookie.
It's my first time to dine here. It has a strong sense of American tradition, special U-shaped seats, classic American burgers and fries, and Heinz ketchup and yellow mustard sauce. You're welcome. The waiters are hardcore but fast. I will try the pecan burger and apple pie next

Went later in evening to get dessert. Was packed but was able to get 2 seats. Our order was taken quickly ( got 2 pieces of pie ) one slice came the pecan pie. Finished that and still the second hadn't come. We had to flag someone down to ask for the other one ( chocolate pudding ).I thought they made their pies....they tasted pre-packed store bought. Was really disappointed.However the places smelled like their burgers are probably yummy. We didnt try so can't say for sure.
