My wife, my sister-n-law, my son and I stayed here the night before the 2026 Los Angeles Marathon. We picked this location because it was close to the marathon starting line and offered a shuttle from the hotel to the starting line for runners since there was no way to walk to Dodger Stadium. The Galleria is in desperate need of revitalizing, most of the stores and restaurants are shuttered, and appear to have been in that state for several years.While the architecture of the building is still a marvel - a walk through this massive 6 floor complex may take you down memory lane to March 2020, when everything was closed. The Bonaventure Galleria is located in a building that is in need of revitalizing, with many closed businesses and outdated amenities. The restaurant on the top floor is messy and hasn't been touched in a year, while the food options include a higher-end brewery, an affordable Korean café, and the "East-West Cafe' with a broken soda fountain. The only convenience store is expensive and cramped, with souvenirs taking up most of the space. Despite the location being ideal for office workers and visitors, the outdated and limited offerings make it less appealing.
Guests have experienced issues with room requests and upgrades at the hotel, despite being Elite Plat and Titanium members. Communication and service seem lacking in this aspect. However, the staff is described as lovely and the location is great for a first visit to LA.
While the Galleria has its flaws, the staff at the hotel are usually kind and accommodating. However, there have been instances of unhelpful and dismissive behavior, such as not being able to connect to wifi and receiving poor service at the reception. Overall, the Bonaventure Galleria has potential but needs improvements in various areas to cater better to its guests.
