Great place for delicious Japanease food
I heard there was a new Japanese restaurant in the area, so I decided to check it out, and I’m so glad I did! The atmosphere was really nice, and everything I ordered was delicious, so I had such a great meal.
I tried the ramen, wagyu, and their signature sashimi plate. Honestly, everything was so good and definitely worthy of being called a signature dish. My favorite was the wagyu—it was incredibly fresh, tender, and juicy.

Service: The service is great, everyone is very attentive. Definitely a 10/10 on customer service
Food: Everything we tried was flavorful from our spicy edamame, to the Tuna sunrise roll to our Ramen. The plum wine they serve is delicious. Definitely a 10/10.
Location: It is at a corner so if you don’t look you might miss it, but they do validate your parking ticket if you park in the structure for 1 1/2 hour.
Atmosphere: It is a chill relaxing setting.

Umito Sushi and Ramen is a great new spot in Mid-Wilshire for anyone looking for quality Japanese food late at night. They are open daily from 11:30 AM to midnight, which makes it especially convenient after work or whenever craving sushi and sashimi later in the evening. The interior feels inspired by an old Japanese street, and the warm lighting creates a relaxed, stylish atmosphere at night, making it a nice place for a date, dinner with friends, or a casual late-night meal.
The sushi was stunning the moment it hit the table, with every piece beautifully plated. Hamachi was buttery and rich, paired with a refreshing yuzu sauce, while Bluefin tuna was incredibly fresh with melt-in-your-mouth richness. The seafood udon was an unexpected favorite, with a broth that was spicy, savory, and naturally sweet from fresh mussels and scallops. The Sushi Omakase Platter featured each piece seasoned differently to complement the fish. The stinky cousin roll and tempura were perfection, and the Wagyu was incredibly tender. The Uni Pasta was rich without being too heavy, and the uni hand roll had a generous portion with fresh, creamy uni inside.
Great, fresh food and friendly, efficient service. They are open late, which is a huge plus. Parking in the garage is free for 1.5 hours with validation, and the location is close to LACMA.
