The Black review:The Seafood was fresh yes, but seasoned no.No one at my table enjoyed their food, which is a shame considering the prices.I ordered the tuna poke, seafood platter, and chilean sea bass with two margaritas (200$)(Poke was the best thing)Father ordered the burger and he said it tasted bad and thrown together.He did not eat itBrother ordered the fried cod fish, he said it was moist but wanted more food in the end.BF ordered the lobster sandwich, he said it was dry and unseasoned. He wish it came with a sauce on it.I had two drinks and did not feel them.The atmosphere could be better, was very loud inside and had crying kids.My cup was dirty and I had to ask for another.

Excellent service at al, we were celebrating +29th Years anniversary, manager Steve and waiter Mathew made our night incredible, well all staff was so friendly ...they did an extra to make us feel comfortable and plenty, we love the food but mostly the service ... definitely recommend

Absolutely amazing dining experience at Water Grill!The Chilean sea bass was cooked to perfection - tender, flavorful, and simply delicious.The Rockefeller oysters were also a standout, bursting with flavor and freshness.This place never disappoints, great service and the environment was amazing! Can't wait to return for more culinary delights.

A last minute decision to dine here, and glad we did. Service and staff were excellent, and they do upsell you a bit. Food was delicious and not one item we ordered, didn't taste great. Would recommend this place if you like seafood. It's a bit on the pricey side.

Everything was perfect. We came for a birthday for my wife and she loved it. I scored some major points. First, the beet salad was delicious, the dressing was perfect. The birthday girl said her fish was the best she has ever eaten. We ended with a delicious cookie with ice cream and a candle to blow out. Our server, Christopher was a real pro. He really new the menu and made the evening feel special.

Our family birthday celebration was perfect at Water Grill! Three generations, eight people, all found delicious menu items. The food was outstanding from appetizer to dessert. Carlos was an excellent as was the other support staff. They were attentive and stayed aware of our needs without hovering too much. Outstanding food, excellent service = best birthday ever!
Ww met up with some of our friends who live in the LA area and had the best dinner. The food was amazing (you have to start with the seafood tower) and our service Chris was exceptional. This is the best seafood restaurant in LA, hands down.

Service was excellent. Food, overall outstanding. The big disappointment was the Caesar salad. The lettuce was not fresh. Also, it only came with 2 anchovies. For $14, they need to do better with this item.

The food was outstanding. We enjoyed the Chilean Seabass and the Black Cod. Service was great. We were short on time as we had theatre tickets. Our server went out of his way to be certain that our meal was served on time. The restaurant was extremely busy and I noted how hard the servers were working. We look forward to a return visit the next time we are in Downtown.

Service was great - Kendall (who said he remembered us) was kind and efficient - especially appreciated that he let us take our time. We like Water Grill before concerts - my husband loves the oysters and I'm fond of the black cod. We prefer sharing "small plates" (and wish you had a shrimp cocktail/salad appetizer...) - the rolls are The Best.

It's always a treat to enjoy a delicious meal at the Water Grill, I've been coming here since it opened, and it never fails to disappoint. And don't miss the Manila clams in saffron broth. Amazing!
